I like Hammond and Hume as a front pairing, and don't see a problem with Sylla on the right wing at the minute, or at least not one that we can solve straight away.

Problem is we have no other real right winger, so Sylla has no competition. In January we need to buy another RW, if not to play ahead of Sylla, to at least give Momo a kick up the arse and let him know he's not guaranteed of his place.

Alternatively, buy another pacey striker (which I think we will and should be doing anyway), and put Hammond on the right wing...

Leave Hammond up front, now he is playing up front with a skillful partner week in week out and what a difference, 2 goals in last 3 starts and against top half clubs, not a bad run for a player who hadnt scored a senior english league goal before this season. Thought his finish was excellent last night, a very well taken goal.

Did he borrow Elvis's banjo or do you think he has bought one of his own?

hows about this as a starting line up when we have everyone available?

--------------------------Henderson--------------------------------

Stearmen--------------Gerrbrand------McCarthy-------------Nissa---

Hughes----------------Gudjohnson-----Weso----------------Smith

-----------------------Hammond--------Hume----------------------

i know that line up gives me more confidence

I'd just be a bit careful about building up Weso too much, he's barely played any competitive football.

im not really building him up i just dont feel we have any other options as the rest are shite-i dont think he is the messiah ;)

Maybury at Right Back better option than Stearman at this moment in time IMO.

I defenitly think henderson deserves a chance, coyne left because he was unable to get into the team following a bad run of form from walker.

And has followed a pretty undistinguished path ever since.

From what I have seen of both Henderson and Douglas, I still prefer the latter.

Same here Bocers.

IMO both keepers are more than adequate for this division, the reason we are 19th isnt because Rab keeps conceding bad goals, granted he has made a few mistakes, but name me ONE single player in the current city squad that isnt guilty of making costly errors, the problem isnt with Rab as an individual, it is a collective responsiblilty from the management team right the way through the playing squad and up until now the problem has been that mistakes have been made too often as a collective this season.

We have been guilty of and punished for poor decision making in matches, and that will be partly down to inexperience, lack of confidence, new players gelling and poor judgement. What we have to do is begin to reduce the frequency of these errors and the results will improve, but as I have said, this is a problem running right through the club at present.

After playing in goal now for about a month back, the criticism on Douglas is a touch unjustified. His mistakes have been noticeable but what about wayward passes which have led to a goal, shambolic marking (a mahor worry of mine) and indisplince. I agree Douglas looks dodgy, lets face it hes more a bricklayer than a keeper but I can't think of one of obivious mistake he has done which as led to a goal. Possibly the two penalities but they are debateable.

We have been picking out all of the silly little mistakes because in previous years we have had top quality keepers (Walker, Flowers, Keller) who would very, very rarely make a mistake. Now we haven't got keepers with the same quality, and we pick up on these mistakes far too easy. Douglas is easily one of the best keepers in this division, he has a lot of experience, and is a good shot stopper. Henderson is good cover. Basically, we have to move on from the days of Walker and live with what we've got!

True, and the other thing to bear in mind that keepers like Keller and Flowers played behind some fairlysolid defence, Elliot, Taggart etc. with lennon breaking up opposition attacks in front of them. Our centre backs could defend the high balls and crosses in to the box that we seem to struggle with, and Matty used to chip in with goals from set peices which were our forte.

i dont think that i am being picky when that prick throws the ball straight to the opposition and then they go and score (the watford game that is)

But surely you don't think he was the only one to make a mistake in those few seconds of fiasco!

no boc but if it wasn't for him the downward spiral would of never began;)

I thought it was Peter Taylor who started the downward spiral.

And even Ian Walker made some terrible hashes whilst a City player - but now everybody rates him!
