Don't tell me you only got a 1080i TV Duzza? :icon_roll

It'll be obsolete in a couple of years :icon_lol:

I'd want to change it by then anyway :icon_wink

Anyway you cant buy anything with 1080p support currently.

1080 vertical pixels on a monitor is better than the picture you'll receive on a 1080i HDTV. The i means interlaced - for 1/25 of a second it displays the 540 odd numbered pixels, then for the next 1/25 second it displays the 540 even numbered pixels. With a monitor you get all 1080 pixels displayed at the same time.

If you want 'proper' HDTV you should get 1080p, but at the moment (in terms of TV pictures) it won't look any better because they're broadcast as 1080i. Stuff like the next generation of DVDs and PS3 should look better on a 1080p screen though.
so is my picture better then duzza

one of my colleagues brought acoustic solutions argos jobby mentioned earlier reckons it is very good.

There are TVs that will do both 1080i and 1080p. ;) This for example. ;)

Mr McSweeney down the road is having one of these beauties delivered in March, when the pass is clear of snow. He says I can come over to look at it sometimes. He may even switch it on too!

cant quite remember who actually makes it but the name was a suprise considering its meagre price tag. The Polaroid 32" at PC World is also meant to be excellent.

Richer Sounds - great shop, used to give away free cold water and ice poles in the summer. Excellent for playing football on Vicky Park and then going down there to pretend to be interested in buying a TV or Amp or something for all the free goodies!

They pay your parking for you in Oxford if you spend over 50 quid or something, which kinda means it balances out!
