Well **** me coal has gone up by £3.75 a ****ing 50kg bag ,we used to pay £13.00 a bag now gone up to £16.75 :icon_eek:

When winter comes we use around about 2-2half bags a week ,this is going to kill us off at that price TBH.

I know gas and elec has gone up ,how the hell can they get away with putting ****ing coal up that much ,not happy at all :icon_evil:098:

I bought our first bag of coal for this winter today. The bastards have put the price up by 50 cent a bag since last winter, thieving ****s are charging €15.50 a bag (£12)

For ages the gas and energy prices were linked to the price of Brent Crude oil, but ever since crude started shooting downwards (Now at $91 per barrel, according to Platts) the gas companies are saying that they are no longer linked. Incredible, as:-

1). Less free credit means we are spending less, especially on luxuries

2). Said luxuries are generally made in far east, who have been scaling back production, therefore using less energy

3). Less energy usage in such huge global emerging economies means that there will start to be more available energy to buy on the open market.

4). Which means the price should come down, but it isn't as the energy companies are clinging to any issues that may cause supply issues (Latest being that there is a hole in a Norwegian pipeline which is keeping UK prices high, as we buy 25% of our gas from Norway)

It is about time that the UK energy companies stopped taking the UK consumers for fools. The press should be researching the above type of information and releasing it to the general public.

Whenever I see that phrase I keep seeing David Brent doing something faintly disturbing with a can of motor oil.

I'm not a socialist but I have a certain amount of sympathy for the view that key industries should be under state rather than private control.
