If we ever have to face a penalty shootout next season, and presuming that Henderson will still be a backup keeper for us, I reckon we should bring him on right at the end of extra time like we used to do with Kalac. That's three penalty saves in a row now (well Sheffield United scored from their rebound, but still), just a shame he is shite in all the other areas.

I think Henderson will probably be first choice next season. He's done OK since he got back in the team and I can't see us signing anyone better if we go down.

Yeah I imagine he will be first choice if we go down, however my glass is half full. :icon_wink

i don't really see him wanting to play in league 1, assuming we go down. if by some miracle we stay up, i rekon he'll be our number 2 with MM spending big on Fulop (hopefully).

Henderson had a good game yesterday, I'd like some more time to re-evaluate him. Although his positioning for the third goal was dire. But I suspect Stowell was happy with it.

well Stowell probably thinks he's a "cracking lad", so w/e he does, he will be proud of him

I would have thought playing for our first team in League One would be better for him than playing for our reserves in the Championship.

i agree. i just see MM actually taking the time to spend wisely on players in positions we need improving, although Hendo is a decent keeper, we need better to survive next season - along with strikers who can score goals i.e Howard hasn't got a clue. PROVE ME WRONG ON SUNDAY STEVIE!!! (assuming the lump is playing).

I don't want the **** to decide who we buy, that's the managers job.

Or maybe he can do it and we can play with 11 N'Gotty's.

tbf to Henderson he couldn't really do a lot other than rush out like a prat and take the player out(and probably still concede). Having seen the bloody highlights this morning, I could quite cheerfully strangle that lino with his flag. THREE of their players were offside(yes I know it doesn't matter now but it's not like it was a case of no daylight between the players, you'd get a car through the gap on this one!

I think overall, Henderson has done ok since coming back into the side, pity that individual defensive mistakes have proved so costly(as yesterday)

Henderson's been good since he got back in the team. He's proved me wrong as I thought he was useless before and 3 penalty saves in the last couple of months is an amazing stat. He did his part yesterday with the penalty save just a shame the rest of the lads couldn't do theirs.

You can't blame him for the 3rd goal, the bloke was about 4 miles offside

But the players should keep playing until they hear the whistle, he shouldnt have stood still.

I would have thought he didn't react due to it seeming absolutely implausible that anyone calling themselves an official could let play go on

Although their third goal looked offside from my position, I thought there was a chance the Stoke player was in his own half when the ball was played. Haven't seen it on TV.
There was no mention from the commentators about it being offside. Seems something I've only picked up on here. There were two of their players offside, but they were walking back towards their own half.

Barber and Walshie were saying that it was offside, but that doesn't really say much really. I thought it looked offside when I saw it on the Championship this morn.

I was listening to RL for much of the game (apart from the last 10 minutes or so), to keep up with the other scores, and Barber got loads of things wrong including offsides.
I hope his replacement isn't so bad as I will probably be listening to a lot more matches on the radio next season, rather than being at the game.

After a few looks on Sky+ it looked like it had to be offside but the cameraman was too slow for it to be conclusive.
