There was no mention from the commentators about it being offside. Seems something I've only picked up on here. There were two of their players offside, but they were walking back towards their own half.

Yes there were two players walking back, but the bloke who scored was further forward than them, and he certainly wasn't walking back!

I thought it was offside when I saw it, and from the quick view I saw this morning-albeit the angle wasn't good- it looked offside.

I don't want the **** to decide who we buy, that's the managers job.

Or maybe he can do it and we can play with 11 N'Gotty's.

neither do i, but he's the twat with all the money, and assuming he stays here next season, he'll want to spend his money wisely but i hope this time him and whoever the manager is, actually do!!! cos we don't want another falling out, and another manager sacked.............(MA/Jimy-Floyd) im just damn angry with the worst season ever, if we stay up, it will be a miracle!

Have to admit, this was done yesterday after the game in a bit of haste, and looking back on it this morning, felt a bit of a waste of time, but it was at least a little cathartic. I just wanted to see how much of a difference Henderson really does make in goal – to spite a few people that have wound me up by arguing that he’s a “good keeper”. Well, I suppose like most things in football, its always debateable regardless of stats, but I might as well write this up - could some food for thought.

---------Games Played----Goals Conceded---Won---Drawn---Lost
Fullop---------23--------------22------------22%---48%----30%
Alnwick--------8---------------6-------------37%---13%----50%
Henderson-----14--------------18------------29%---14%----57%

If each players percentages were applied to the 45 games played (51 points) so far:

-------------Won--- Drawn---Lost---Total Points
Fullop--------10-------22------13------52
Alnwick-------17-------6-------22------57
Henderson----13-------6-------26------45

Trying to put a positive spin on things, basically if we had Henderson’s form all season, we would’ve already been relegated. So its a good job we didn't.

It also shows that Fullop by himself wouldn’t have made a great difference to our situation – which is a little reassuring when I thought it was criminal not to pay up for him when we had the chance. I still would’ve preferred to have had him in the run-in though, and for survival, £3 million probably is good value. He didn’t win many games when he played – but I didn’t fear for my life each time to ball goes into our box, like I do when I watch Henderson.

I won’t bang on why I think Henderson is a poor keeper for this level, because I also think statistics can be spun to show up anything if you wanted, but I’ll just say that I find it very difficult to comprehend why people can’t appreciate that there is more to a goal keeper’s performance than making the odd save per game – which all keepers are put there to do in the first place.

And obviously its not just the keeper that’s to blame for the mess we’re in.

Anyway, I more than hope Henderson will prove me and the stats wrong and keep a clean sheet on Sunday.

(note: the accuracy of the data cannot be vouched for – they were calculated in anger, and yes, I should've spent my time kicking the cat instead trying to work this out.)

Wow. Most people are content just to say hello on their first post :icon_wink

sorry, I'm just an observer of this forum, and just felt compelled to put this point across - mainly because someone earlier in the thread mentionned that Henderson was a "decent keeper". I don't know why but it just rubs salt into the wounds - comments like that.

Anyway, hello!

The stats are wrong.

Henderson has played 13 games (31% won), and Fulop has played 24.

I think Henderson has looked much better in his recent run in the team than he did earlier in the season, and last season.

It might be interesting to isolate Henderson's figures since his recent recall and compare them with those from his early season appearances.

14 points from 11 games since he got back into the team. 0 points from two games early in the season.

Plus the 3 goals he conceded yesterday were with N'Gotty rather than Kisnorbo infront of him, must count for something surely..

How many penalty saves have Alnwick and Fulop made for us this season?

Fair enough, but then again I didn't include his diabolical performances against Forest or Southampton in the Cups. At fault for a goal in each in my opinion.

Loving your username btw :icon_cool

Those statistics mean nothing.

A keeper may concede 5 in 5 games but another keeper may concede 3 in 5 - it doesn't actually mean the second keeper is better.

Fulop was the best keeper this season for us by far.

I wonder if he's related to Franck Rolling?

Oh frick off you pedantic old fart. I was 12 when he first played for us, as if I can remember trivial name spellings like that.

Just remembered why I'm not a forum regular, it's too irritating to conform to the cliquishness of it all.

Well it was fun while it lasted. Have a fun end to the season one and all.

FFS, is it national over-reaction month or something?
