This is just a note to say thank-you to everyone for their kind comments on the song and to those of you who have made the club aware of it and also to update those of you interested on its progress. I’m genuinely overwhelmed by how popular the song has been and how many people seem to have enjoyed it… this time last week I would never have thought I’d be doing an interview for the Leicester Mercury about it!

I have spoken with Peter Jones, the Supporter Relations Manager at LCFC and I’m really pleased to report that it looks like it will be played some time before kick-off at a forthcoming home game and potentially, regularly. Many thanks to anyone who has contacted the club… they now are well aware of it and I think Peter Jones’s inbox is ready for a rest!

The song requires some minor alterations to the lyrics and also the audio quality needs to be improved for it to be played at the ground, so a new version will be recorded. I’ve been contacted by a City fan who works at a recording studio and he is generously going to help me with it. Whilst not wanting to deviate too far from the original, there may well be some drums/electric guitar/bass added. As I said, I’ll be making some small changes to the lyrics, if anyone has any opinions as to who, if anyone should also be included, let me know. I’m thinking possibly Banks/Shilton/Gary Mills and I’m also still keen to find a rhyme for Theo Zagorakis!

Due to my work commitments and those of the studio, it may take a few weeks to get done but I’m hoping if all goes well, it’ll be ready for the Cheltenham game at the Walkers on 4th April at the latest.

Once again, thanks for your part in making the song so popular. I’ll post this message on a couple of the other forums so apologies if you read it twice.

All these lyrics have obviously confused you with our fixtures. We play Carlisle at home on 4th April :icon_wink

Thought it was really good, though wasn't Kevin 'Rooster' Russell? As opposed to Kevin, Kevin Russell in the song?

I've even had non-Leicester fans come up to me and say they enjoyed the song.

I'd suggest just keeping it accoustic - and maybe playing it live before kick off?

if you end up going on East Midlands today make sure you ask that ginger if she takes it up the gary. for the good of the forum.

Top song btw

I don't like it - I think it's a bit sloppy to just use the music to "we didn't start the fire". Also, just a warning but if this is played across the PA system at the Walkers then it will sound shite. Acoustic stuff always does. You should perhaps think about adding a drum loop and some funky slap bass otherwise it'll just be like listening to a babbling twat.

I suppose you would make up a completely new tune for your parody?

I bet he takes out the line about DJ being offside again.

Would think so... was suprised to see the club wanted to use it, until I read the bit about changing some of the lyrics.

I would think the club have requested that anything seen as negative about a player, past or present, be removed. Probably the bit about Junior Lewis playing like a Brazilian would go ;)
