No, that's not what we agreed at all. He doesn't count toward the number of loaness that can be at the club. However, there can only be 5 loan players in the 17 man squad irrespective of where they come from, therefore he counts as one of those.

There's some debate to whether a player from an overseas player counts to the matchday squad rule too. Sorry to roll the line out but there are rules on Football Manager...and the FL site is very unspecific.

On the contrary, the Football League site is most specific. It defines Standard and Emergency Loans as taking place between "Clubs in membership of The Football League, The Premier League, The Football Conference, Northern Premier League, Isthmian League and Southern League" and Youth Loans as taking place between "Clubs in membership of The Football League, The Premier League and the Football Conference (National Division) only". It then goes on to say that "a maximum of 5 loan Players (Standard, Emergency or Youth) can be named in the Players listed on a team sheet for any individual match".

Vitor's loan is therefore neither a Standard, nor an Emergency, nor a Youth loan and is therefore outside the scope of the clause restricting the number of such players that can be named on a team-sheet.
