Re: Holloway out

You can't do it Steven, you can't put up a post asking for a debate anymore.

This forum is full of people who will hysterically jump down your throat assuming you're asking for their god to be sacked.

The art of debate and discussion is no longer dying, it is dead.

I understand your point entirely, but you won't get a response from the forum, you'll get accusations and insults thrown back at you.

I thought my point was a fair one and in the form of a debate.

Although I do think Steven is a wonderfully nice person but that has nothing to do with Ian Holloway. :icon_bigg

Yes it was, and I wasn't necasserily aiming at the replies in this thread, just my own experiences of late on this forum.

Re: Holloway out

Racism. I can't take any more of this. If Ian Holloway was white the supporters of this club would worship him.

Re: Holloway out

It is just silly to start suggesting of destroying the last threads of stability the club hangs on to and, in doing so, getting rid of what is actually a good manager (well, in my opinion anyway).

Re: Holloway out

who wants some more debate? Had enough?

In all seriousness. I think that Holloway should be sacked if he fails to turn this side round. The only problem is that it will take time to find out and potentially we will be relegated. This is last chance saloon. If Holloway can't get us playing then relegation is what beckons.

I hope that MM's faith in funnyman Holloway will be repaid. I think that going off his previous teams and their performances he will keep us safe and we will push on next season. Whether he can get us to the Prem is anyones guess.

Having said all that, I love to boo, so let's get on his back! OUT OUT OUT.

Re: Holloway out

Who on earth wants to get rid of Ollie?

Consider the evidence (I'm not a Fox so I think I think objectively ...)

Ollie made a success out of Plymouth Argyle (if you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, that was still a pretty good impression of one!)

Argyle gave him time and reaped the rewards.

He can only fail at Leicester if:

1. Your fans or chairman are too impatient.
or 2. The club is unable to progress the way Plymouth did.

Given the funds and chairman you have, number 2 is pretty unlikely.

And if you're calling for a manager to leave after two months, then that breaks the World Record for useless fans currently held, as it has been for the past 30 years, by the Geordies!

this is so rediculous that i'm not even going to bother responding! find something better to do on a saturday night!

I'm finding it very difficult to give an answer to Steven's original question.

If we carry on as we are and he makes all his signings and keep getting worse, I want him out at the end of this month, as I fear the inevitable.

If he completes all his signings and we start to see signs of stability over the course of 4 or 5 games then I'll happily give him until the end of the season.

If he lasts until the end of the season, we must stick with him even if he takes us down, we shouldn't sack him as punishment.

If MM thinks there is the remotest possibility the IH isn't the right man, and that he is more than likely going to get us relegated, he has to go now!!!

Me?, I've got no bloody idea, I just know my faith in the man is failing fast.

MM wants results, and he wants them fast.

Re: Holloway out

Milan said he will change the Manager again and again and again until he gets the right man.

If anybody thinks that Milan Mandaric is sat there now thinking to himself "Ollie will come good, give him until the end of next season for his signings to gel" is I think, very much mistaken.

Milan will now be running out of patience, and also shitting himself, of that I'm sure

That's why, whatever we think, Holloway has probably got until about February.

If we are still 21st, 3 points of the bottom in a months time, Milan's trigger finger will get another work out and we'll be looking for what, manager number 8?

Personally I think it's ridiculous but there we go.

Out of the FA Cup and one place above the last relegation place on goal difference. IH has had a quarter of the season to "weave his magic". :102:

How is it ridiculous to challenge your version of received wisdom? :102: The facts speak for themselves. :102:

You never seem to have had any faith in him!

Re: Holloway out

I don't want him out but I do want him from now to take and accept responsibility for his teams performances. This is now his team and he has the oppurtunity to buy his players. With the same set of players has Managers before him he did no better and probably worse but I'm prepared to wait and see what he does with his own players because I like some of the stuff he says and his ideas

Problem is Steven, football is an emotional game. It is not unknown for fans to take leave of their senses for the love of their club, we've all done it.

Most fans aren't looking at Ollies stats at Leicester, they view them as irrelevant as he is the right man to take us forward in their hearts. However, those same people are more than happy to throw his stats at Plymouth back in your face.

Re: Holloway out

can one of our statisticians give us the Martin O'Neill's results after 13 (Sheffield United at home?) games..

i'm not attempting to compare IH with MON but there was a need for a change agenda then and there is now...I am usually optimistic and welcomed IH's enthusiasm and passion and his stated desire to change the structure of the club.. however I am becoming increasingly concerned that he may be out of his depth in some areas and worryingly I'm beginning to question his ability to motivate and focus the players....all the tactical changes in the first half today would surely raise the eyebrows of more than just the older and wiser members of the squad ....

we are all desperate for the start of a winning run and some semblance of shape to the team and stability within the club....I hope and want to believe that can be accomplished with Ollie at the reigns and MM's cash...

maybe the MON comparison after a similar period would be of some comfort...

I have, but very little. Do you think he's done anything to suggest my faith in him should be getting stronger?
