I don't believe any of this until Mr.Predictor has had his say.

Wrong thread jas, shouldn't you be in the prediction league thread?

It's sustainable if you don't give a shit about what's it's like to actually attend a game. Sky are shit and I wish they'd sod off with it all, but let's not lie, we all suckle at the teat. Even if you watch a stream online, chances are it's being produced for one of the international subsidiaries of Sky or the Premier League TV rights.

Football would not exist for long on TV with empty stadiums, the interest of plastic fans would soon disappear.

I don't agree with it, I just don't think Sky and probably most clubs are that bothered about keeping stadiums full. There will always be enough interest in premier league teams to get a decent percentage crowd in anyway. There are Leicester fans who can't get tickets, they would tend to be less inclined to boycott where they offered a ticket so the seat would still get filled.

Why are the feeds being created in the first place?

So people can watch it without having to line the pockets of Sky etc. Yes it may be an actual Sky feed everyone is watching but it is in no way generating any revenue for Sky whilst doing so.

I can see where you are coming from with your argument for not needing anyone at the games - Sky and other foreign broadcaster pour enough money in and match day revenue is an insignificant amount in comparison but I think Liverpool's recent walk-out showed how much of an impact having a full stadium of fans can have.

It just feels to me that if people object to Sky and its influence then they shouldn't partake of it at all. The idea of a boycott is that you are making a sacrifice to make a point, by watching a stream you aren't doing that (as opposed to paying for Sky).

And don't forget the suffering, a good protest is nothing without suffering. People should whip themselves while not watching free streams - and maybe some of them should be killed by horses too, that'd stick one up the Mad old Aussie.
