Perhaps the fact this isn't complained about is more out of tiredness than offence. You can argue this is patronizing, my point is more that it's laziness like this which can breed resentment without anyone really knowing too much about it, exceot for those concerned.

But we don't actually know if it has anything to do with being black do we? You are presuming for some unknown reason that its because Sylla and Hammond are black that the picture is incorrect.

And you are making that decision to complain for them even though not one complaint or negative comment from the black community has been recieved.

I used the word 'them' as a term to indicate a section of society not in the manner as you apparently thought, just as I would describe other groups as 'them' in this context (eg. MP's would be described as 'them' as I am not one).

Quite, it is a fact in this matter, and I did find it offensive and while you believe this is white middle-class patronizing, I felt more in that it was typical lazy journalism like this which breeds resentment. In all honesty I really didn't expect such an argument from people on here about it, it was just a small comment, however has spiralled.

It could have easily have been a photo of anybody else in the squad!

If you read enough papers you will find errors like this all day long!! doesnt mean they are being racist, just poor research and reporting!

Utter laziness, and I find it a tad offensive, I don't think they would have mixed up two white guys.

commentators repeatedly mix joey and hume up, different positions on the field and they still do it. our own fans recently repeatedly shouted HUUUUUUME when wesolowski was warming up....it does happen, but we dont all piss our pants in disgust

Well, your photo wasn't mistaken for another 'similar' looking chap - wherein you certainly might have been offended, particularly if he was to match distinguishing features (eye colour, hair colour/loss, weight for example) you may have?

personally i wouldnt have been offended, would have looked at it and thought "oh well done" and laughed a little, maybe if i was desperate for it to be my moment of fame and the wrong photo was used i might have my piss boiled. a situation i doubt relates to professional footballers as they're in the public eye enough

i dont see where i was immature there..... i know what sort of shit minorities put up with as my long term girlfriend is from an ethnic minority but it doesnt mean she takes everything as racist

How moronic is it that Muslims cause a global out cry because a danish newspaper has printed a picture of their god with a bomb, yet the way some react is to support a terroist organisation and threaten the rest of europe with future 7/7 attacks!

Surely this would lead to more people having a negative outlook to muslims? Wouldnt it have been better to rise above it and by all my complain about the picture being published but in a way that doesnt result in muslims coming off in the worse light!

Admittedly the Danish paper might have offended muslims but papers offend varouis religions and countries every day it doesnt mean this religions/countries threaten wars against the rest of europe!

Look will you milky bar Honkys shut the feck up, lets be honest the picture was mistaken identity, as I think Willow states if Joey and Humey had been mistaken it wouldnt have caused this furore. The only issue it has raised is that some shit for brains is too lazy to research his job, and still gets paid for said error, however we have managed to waste the whole afternoon and a bit of the evening as well bitching about it FFS.
