Latest version of Android out in August for us HTC Android phone owners. :)

The Froyo update is now available(or in the next week) for the Desire in Europe. :icon_bigg

It's definitely a huge improvement. I've rolled back to Eclair for now as the ported ROM for the Hero has a problem with the camera at the moment, and I use mine a fair amount. That and the lack of full Flash support are the only problems with it so when they're sorted I'm back on it.

Now upgraded to 2.2 and everything is ok and has a lot more features than before. :icon_bigg

I've had Froyo on my Desire for almost a month, it has lots more functions as you say but I'm convinced that the battery life has suffered, I previously got 2 days from a charge and it now seems more like 1.5

As an iphone user one can only dream of 1.5 .

I may be wrong about the reduction, currently showing 27h uptime and still at 50% charge. It could just be the fact I have used more functions since the upgrade

I have about 60% left on the phone and it has been running for 20 hours and on WiFi. :102:

yeah froyo is meant to improve battery performance. Not speaking from experience though as i'm still waiting for mine from Vodafone! :(
