dont beat around the bush lako, say what you mean... :icon_lol:

sorry just read that back, was a bit abrupt. Hughes has never been good enough and let this club down massivley this season, i just dont think he warrents any form of defence, he is his own man and a decent player doesnt lose talent over the course of a season.

I think he is the biggest pile of shit in team, after maybury.

what a load of utter utter toss. poor old little hughesy has had his talent coached out of him, never heard so much shit in my life.

The quality of coaching, discipline and tactics has a massive effect on players hence why we dropped like a stone when MON and his buddies left and were replaced by Taylor.

There have been a number of examples of players that have either joined the club or come through the ranks over the past 2 or so years, looked decent prospects in the early days only to go backwards:

Stephen Hughes
Paddy McCarthy
Matty Fryatt
Ryan Smith
Richard Stearman

i believe hughes never actually had the ability to play this level of football

Paddy mac is a young lad and has no way suffered under the previous managment

Matty Fryatt only succeeded at a lower level and there was no guarentee he would be good enough here, also he has had injuries which make his development hard to judge.

Ryan Smith was not good enough full stop. Or do derby have the same supposed effect on players as we do because he failed there also.

Stearman has suffered with confidence because everyone gets on his back whenever he plays poorly, plus he is another young lad who is developing.

there is 0 evidence that any seasoned pro with true tested abilty at this level had been ruined by previous management set ups.

Maybe young lads who have been founf wanting at a step up in level but that is nothing to do with the coaching.

Hughes was one of our best players when he first arrived, a solid passer of the ball and forever making runs beyond the front 2. That left forever after a few months here.

I have just never rated hughes.

Agree entirely. You can add Maybury to the list as well - after a few months there was a vote on here for a new captain, which Maybury won hands down if I remember. He USED TO BE good!

maybe the standard of the league changed?

How come we have never been anywhere near challenging, even when the players first arrived and didnt have time to be 'turned shit'

has he gone yet?
