My team for tomorrow night as follows.....

Henderson

Kenton
McCarthy
Kisnorbo

Stearman
Hughes
Weslowski
Williams if fit
Porter

Hume
Fryatt

Subs

Logan
Johansson
Low
Johnson
O'Grady

We need to do something, at present 4-4-2 is not playing to our strengths, we need to pick a team and formation that allows us to select our best players and play them in their strongest positions, I also think that this would provide decent defensive cover whilst increasing our creative options and allowing us to play a fluent passing game which IMO suits our players far better.

My reason for dropping Low is that despite an adequate start he does seem to have gone off the boil and I feel that we need to freshen things up and select our strongest XI.

My idea is 4-4-2

Maybury back to his right-back position, Weso and Williams in the middle, Hume and Fryatt up front.

Hughes to go on left if necessary and Fryatt's last chance before a dropping is required.

Dunno about Strearman at right M/F, he was all over the shop when he came on on Saturday.

I think we have to revert to a Fryatt/Hume front pairing and give them some time.

I agree they are by far and away our best front pairing, we have only started two games with these as the front two and whilst we lost both games, I believe that these two if they can recapture last seasons understanding can provide enough goals to secure mid table safety.

Tomorrow night is a massive game IMO, we take on a side who are really struggling at the moment and if we can be positive and really get amongst them then I see no reason why we cannot win comfortably and again try to kick start our season. However it is also the type of fixture that traditionally over the last 2 or 3 seasons we seem to come unstuck. If we lose then I fear confidence will take a severe denting and with some really difficult fixtures coming up could see us floundering in the bottom three by the end of the month.

Neither do I, that is why I am selecting him as a right wing back, feel he would be ideal for that type of role. Whilst I see no reason why Porter cannot play a similar type role to Guppy.

Is RB really the issue though?? I dont think there is much to choose between Stearman, Kenton or Maybs tbh.

agreed and if it does go pear-shaped i may well have to do a runner for a few days :icon_roll

Probably alone on this but I think Maybury should be recalled

I cannot understand the situation with Maybury, the club recieve a bid for the player, one that they chose not to accept for whatever reason, however since this specualtion Maybury has not figured in the 16 for a league match.

Why turn the bid down to keep a player that we are now refusing to select for whatever reason, is cutting our nose off to spite our face.

Are you joking?

Our issue is scoring goals not conceeding them! Why make the right flank more defensive?

He's scored goals,no different than sticking Stearman there.None of our Midfielders can score goals. We could play O'Grady there after all isn't he the next Messiah.

OK, judging on Stearman's few minutes on Saturday, where he was out of position most of the time, I wouldn't trust him anywhere other than right back, and his form thus far doesn't earn him a place in the starting 11, IMO.

:icon_conf If we need to put Maybury on the right flank for his goal contribution we really are fecked!!!

What makes you think we aren't.Who would You play there ?

There are a few things that make me think we aren't.

Id play Low there, to me this season he has offered the most in that position. He is from a lower league and will need time to adjust.
