My lot are taking part in the barwell toruny this coming weekend ,should be a hard test for my lot .they need to be brought down to earth a bit before we start pre-season :icon_wink

I've got a couple of knuckle dusters and a cosh if that's any help.

I assume it'll be non-competitive as per FA regulations :icon_wink

You all play matches against each other and no-one records any results, they're all friendly fixtures - these are the FA rules (whether you think that's the right thing or not is another rmatter)

Could be worse, in Scotland all youth football is non-competitive up to and including under 12's!!

it's a bit strange having to play league games and friendlies when the league games don't count towards a league anyway.

How bizarre.
So...it's not actually a tournament as such then?
More like a festival of friendlies, the friendly festival, the fun friendly festival, the fun frivolous friendly festival. They should call it the fantastic fun frivolous friendly festival and then when they have the not-giving-out-any-awards ceremony afterwards they can call that the fantastic fun frivolous friendly festival function. ffffffffffffff

I've got my Daughter's sports day in a couple of weeks. I will feel no shame as I smash the Dad's 100 metre record in an attempt to destroy all the other children's false illusions of their parents.

"Your Dad isn't the best, my Daughter's is" I'll be shouting at the pathetic crying brats as I run round the field celebrating my victory.

Your daughter already gets the piss taken out of her because her dad is a specky twat

Aye it is but its the first step and all that :icon_wink

i can not even post them on here i can say we won ,lost, draw and so on but thats it :icon_sad:

Does that apply to your league matches as well?

I'm sure I've seen you say you won 21-0 and your son scored 14 before.:icon_bigg

It's the way things are going. Last year under 7's was meant to be non-competitive but lots of leagues got round it in various ways (i.e. calling it the under 8's minor divisions)

They're a lot stricter on it these days and lots of leagues who have been publishing results have stopped doing so half-way through the season (i.e. in Leicestershire & Middlesbrough) so people who thought they were playing in a league have been stopped mid season and now they're all the beloved "friendly fixtures"

Under 8's are also now not allowed to play in knock-out competitions, so they can play in a league competitivley but can't have a knock-out section or cup competition

Whether you like it or not it's the way things are going - don't be surprised to see non-competitive football being enforced at older age groups in the coming seasons
