Recently reffed 2 of our clubs tournaments, U8's and U9's. The lads in general played in the good spirit of the game, with a smile on their faces.
However, some of the parents, jeeez!
Here's one, a parent brings it to my attention that his lads (U8) laces are undone, before I can blow my whistle to tie his laces, his lad catches the ball.
After tying his lace, I give a freekick for handball, the parent then says " I can't believe that you gave a freekick for that".
(It was on the halfway line).
If the parent hadn't distracted his kid, then he wouldn't have tried to catch the ball, but hey, I was the ref, so I must be in the wrong and a wanker.... tosspot!
There's talk about roping off all pitches to stop encroachment by parents.
Just put a rope around the car park, tell them they can't leave the roped area until the game is over, that should do it.
