A club which 'replaced' Leicester City would apply to join leagues at the highest level that would accept it.

it wouldn't be truly unprecedented...

AFC Wimbledon started in the Combined Counties League

Not sure what you saying here.

My point was that it doesn't work like you have to join the lowest league in the pyramid structure. You apply to join the highest league possible. If the members of that league vote you in your'e in - subject to FA approval.

Personally I'm not too worried about LCFC being consigned to the Leics Senior League, I'm much more concerned that in my opinion the owners are spending loads of money and we're going nowhere fast - except consolidating our position as being the joke of the league- all spend, no progress. i appreciate that it's their money to waste - but it's a shame that other clubs can get much better results with a fraction of the outlay.

if the club were to fold a new replacement Leicester would be formed at the very lowest level

It wouldn't actually.

This means that Beckford and Wellens & co are not likely to be gracing Humberstone Park at any time soon.

More generally, I think we should be more concerned about our financial future than worrying about Pompey. In my opinion the miserable failure on Saturday as the culmination of a season of massive under-achievement will have seriously p-issed off the owners who have only themselves to blame for throwing money at an industry that they don't understand especially spending money on fees/ salaries on a bunch of over paid w-nkers Doesn't look to healthy to me at the KP.

I want us to concentrate on signing underpaid wankers for next season, overpaid wankers are a liability.

If Portsmouth go out of business I'll probably not stop laughing for a few months

as long as Cov go down it will be a good season

Don't really get all the people wanting cov to go down whilst retaining bristol, a local away match lost and a crappy away trip (usually on a Tuesday night) retained.

Apparently, since 1967 Cov have only finished in the top half [of whatever division they are playing in] twice. Wishing them a season or several in League 1 or lower seems less an expression of hate and more a good will gesture.

It's about time Coventry got relegated as it has been a long time coming... will also be a bit of sweet revenge for the jip we got off them when it happened to us.

Coventry is known as a great place to visit...

I have a brother in Bristol and my mother lives in Cov, I prefer Bristol for a stay but for a day trip for the footy (or evening as Bristol has been recently) I'd choose Coventry.

I think you're missing the point. I wouldn't want to contribute any more money to an industry which is so poorly regulated, and in which massive incompetence at boardroom level is so commonplace, that it has killed my club. A club that is in the Championship, bringing in the level of income that playing in this league guarantees, should never ever be spending more money than it is making. The clubs that are haemorrhaging money are doing so because they're spending shockingly inflated amounts on players who frankly are not worth it. They're doing this out of avarice because the rewards for being in the Premier League are so perversely disproportionate to the actual achievement of reaching it. The game in this country stinks of greed and it sweats giant beads of mediocrity. The moment it kills my club I'm gone.

:038: Perfectly put.

I always dreamt I would take my child to City matches as my dad did with me, however my love of the game is dwindling year on year and by the time he is old enough to go I'm not sure I'll still want to.

I still love City but that's more through habit, the game as a whole just keeps finding more and more ways to piss me off to the point where I am not bothered about watching any other match apart from Leicester.

My mistake I thought your other half once told me your family was from Cov.

She wasn't telling porkies, my Dad was from Coundon (and hated all sport) and my Mum was from Bedworth, my Uncle and cousins still live in Coventry and Nuneaton area.
