i doubt we'll go down, but then i doubted this season would end up as poor as it has been....lets wait and see. at the end of the day levein has noone to blame but himself, its his players and his tactics, and either he is a shit judge of players or tactically inept. clubs in our division have much less money than us and are doing brilliant in comparison, i just hope the spark to his plans working starts before august

At least in League 1 we might have something to cheer about..
Actually, probably not... we'd just be battling against relegation into League 2

I have. The good thing about a lot of the grounds at that level is that they still have standing. I think I'd enjoy a season down there, as long as we come straight back up.

Yes - and I think you have brilliantly encapsulated there everything that is wrong with Leicester City. A club that has lost its pride and standards and will put up with about anything.

If..and its still quite a big if...you get your wish and the deadbeat manager Levein is retained for another couple of months or beyond, then I think we will either achieve or get very close to your ambition.

You must have a very frustrating life RF if all you're interested in is winning. Why don't you support Chelsea instead?

A lot of fans of other (relatively) big clubs that have spent time in a lower division have enjoyed it. I spoke to some Sheffield Wednesday fans on the train home from a match last season and they reckoned it was the most enjoyable season they'd had for ages.

I'm not saying I want to go down, just that it won't be the end of the world if we do.

Whilst I dont want us to go down, some of the best games/highlights I have seen this season have been in Leagues 1 and 2. I really enjoy that level of football. It reminds me of the old division one.

I quite agree webbo, and we really need to start thinking that we may...

i expect the apparent reduction in funds available to CL is part of a contingency plan for relegation.

(Before the meeting he spoke about getting a few players, now only one seems likely)

whatever money would have been available is likely being kept to help cover the losses of a drop in division (the difference isn't as big as the prem-champ) gates will have a big impact.

While if this is the case i can see the sense, surely they should sack levein if they have no confidence in him.

Since Admin, our board has concentrated on balancing the books, and as such shows no great adventure or ambition, so this shouldn't be a surprise.

Its Sad, but not surprising

Maybe the plan is to bring in one decernt player rather than a few more shite ones, (Which does make sense)

Sacking CL would result in a big payoff to him and probably no new player so a vote of confidence is the only option.

We are getting crusified by the referees because we went into admin once and survived, If we went into admin again the FA would close us down that I guarantee. so dont complain about a board that concentrates on balancing the books.

But you are right to look at the bigger picture, Not enough people do that.

It doesn't look too good...I still think CL is not the man, but if the Board haven't moved by now, when will they...or will they? I've got an additional problem, my cable company is showing every F.A. Cup game this weekend......but they expect me to pay $25.00 for every game..! ( I can watch French, German, Spanish & Argentinian games covered by my cable fee) but obviously the Canadian God does not smile on poor old Leicester, Burton, Luton, Hull etc. When will my problems end?.....probably when I'm selling pencils outside the Crisp Bowl...(I'll be the sad sod with the dancing dog....If I don't sell it first!):frown:

i think i remember seeing a while ago (while arguing with a forest fan) that we haven't been outside the top 2 divisions for a veeeeeeeeeery long time. would be a terrible shame to end that record

i was on the understanding we'd never been out of them since we formed?

Someone validate?

You are correct, as yet we have never played outside the top two divisions.

Never said that it would be the end of the world.

The implication behind the point I was making about your attitude is that it reflects the apathy/ paralysis of the club.

IMO the clear position is that we have a manager who is obviously unable to get the best out of the players at his disposal and a board that is willing to accept very low standards.

Your point about 'why don't I support Chelsea' is simply gratuitous. It's not about expecting Leicester City to win every game - it's about reasonable expectations ...and yes I do expect LCFC to win a fair number of games in the second tier with the players on the books.

Finally, I'm sure you have the intelligence and understanding of the position to know that promotion at the first attempt would be far from automatic and a spiralling decline triggered by relegation to the third tier could spell the second financial ruin of the club ....and this might just cancel out your pleasure in touring a few different grotty grounds.

I think it would be the end of the world to be honest.

I would be mortified.

Me too, I really cannot understand people's acceptance of the current situation and the fact that us being relegated would be seen as a chance to visit a few new grounds and a rather enjoyable expereince.

But hey what the feck, chances are if we did go down we would walk away with the league 1 title, dont you believe it, once we are down at that level we could be there for years, it would be a catastrophic blow to our club, and this apathy to the situation, has allowed the board to continue supporting, one of the worst managers, in terms of results, in our recent history.

I agree with everything you just said. I find some peoples 'it will be a nice day out' attitude baffling.

The thing us Duzzer, with living in Preston, I saw first hand how a team with a massive history and tradition can quickly fall away and become a washed out club, PNE hit rock bottom resulting in having to apply for reelection, it very nearly killed that club, and it took a hell of a lot of hard work, blood, sweat and tears for them to get out of the bottom 2 leagues, I am sure when they were relegated from the equivalent of the championship over 20 odd years ago they believed that it would only be for a season or so, it ended up being nearer 15 to 20 years. Please bear that in mind !
