of course they are......

and all the eastern europeans I have employed have all been racist

Of Course they are....Lazio for one example, Inter Milan at a recent Champions League game.

Why should a minority of EE mean a majority of EE's get labelled racisted. They have long history of being strictly white countries and like England just 30-20 years ago, racism is still evident in every day life, Alf Garnett for starters on national tv was the most racist fecker going.

These EE countries are currently 20 years behind the UK and will possibly continue their development beyond more established nations. The Wisla fans must be applauded, if there was any minority racist/neo-nazi fans there they were not heard.

Secondly I am not defending this guy but where is the proof. Its one mans word against another. McCarthy says he was been racist when he meant of been tell him to feck off. So considering there is a language barrier for starters, its particular hard to punish someone for one words against another.

Just to add, was it not a German player Aaron Hunt of English descent who was recently reported to UEFA for racist language aimed at Anton Ferdinand and Micah Richards. So the probelm is not just restricted to Eastern European.

Its a particular stereotype to hold that EE are racist, I admit past history shows there is but in this case, if the remarks were true, they are from an extreme minority (a player) and generally the EE countries are doing stuff to stamp it. Just because of this, it doesnt warrant a view that labels them all racists?

I am not using it has justification. The club is Wisla Krakow and the player is Serbian but if you read the statements from Blackburn, they dont mention the fans. So, why should the club pay for a players' actions? The player should be fined or suspended.

I will think you find when racism or etc normally involves an Eastern European club, they are punished correctly, normally dont playing games in their stadiums and etc.

Its the countries like Italy and Spain who have probelms yet are constantly given a blind eye.

Three recent England games.
Croatia @ Zagreb, Poland @ Chorzow and Spain @ Madrid. Which one of these grounds, were England players subject to racial abuse?

Sorry about the name of the club, I knew that really :icon_redf .

I don't disagree with you about Italy and Spain and the authorities do always back off when a 'big' club or country is involved.

However the club has to be held responsible for the actions of the players when they are on the pitch representing the club in the same way that they are held responsible if the fans are guilty of racist abuse. To say that only the player should be punished is nonsense. It is up to the club to ensure that everyone connected with the club knows that racist abuse is always unacceptable and if they can not do that then they should be punished.

I understand about your point, that the club should control the player and be punished for that. It's just I feel that the fans shouldnt be punished in a media spotlight for this, I mentioned the fans unravelling a Wisla banner and BG called them racist. But they didnt do anything to suggest they were racist. I just hope if one party gets punished and ridiuculed by the media it's that of the player and not the fans.

Can somebody, BG perhaps, clarify whether or not the banner was racist.

Not condoning racism in any way shape or form, but I couldn't give a f**k what people aim at this prick. He can belittle our club and others along with it without batting an eyelid, I have no sympathy for the c**t

I think you might have missed the vicious joke with Alf Garnett.

But as someone who isn't always seen as European, I think it's an an easy assumption to make that a majority of Eastern Europeans are racist. And not one I'd really have a problem with. Poland would feature pretty highly on my list of racist European nations - after probably Romania and the Czech Rebublic/Slovakia and just above Belgium and Ireland in the West. And maintaining the idea of the Eastern European countries as strictly white means excluding the Roma which I have, bizarrely, been taken for.

I love Alf Garnett and I am pissed off for being made to feel guilty about it.

Oh, and if anybody thinks Alf Garnett is the most racist person on our screens, they don't pay much attention to Lenny Henry, Spike Lee or the organisers of the MOBO awards :icon_roll

Alf Garnett was a contrived character
