it sounds like the police had everything under control, which is assuring incase anything like this happens again and its not a false call.

If it hadn't have been a false call, as you put it, it really wouldn't make any difference because he would've just detonated the device.
In which case, there's not a lot that they can do about it, so not really all that reassuring knowing that the law are organised at cordoning off a few streets after an incident.
