Nope, but I dont think his ODI figures are that impressive and he cant bat for shit

Absolutely correct....and he's also about a 20 runs liability as a fielder.

However, we are playing in India on their pitches and I would have thought that you just have to have the option of a specialist spinner there.

But to win a cricket match (especially a ODI) we need to bowl them out and restrict their runs and on an Indian pitch that surely means a spinner.

But its no good if the spinner takes a couple of wickets and goes for 50+ runs

Lost by 6 wickets.

Jessel is on his way home, so he'l be on to gloat shortly.

Cheeky bastards didnt even use their final power play.

Whats the point of being able to bat down to number ten if it leaves you with rubbish bowlers?

Great win today. Not watched a ball of the game; was at uni today. Glad to see our flair players can still beat a, "good country," today.

Comfortable victory.

Going to Sky + the highlights and watch it when I come back tonight :icon_wink

EASY, EASY, EASY, EASY :038: :038: :038: :038:

But unfortunately that is what has happened to Patel & Swann.

I appreciate that Panesar is not a natural ODI player and has a bowling average in ODIs of 40 (compared to 30 in Tests) but I just think that he provides an option that is needed.

Can't argue with that. Amazing isn't it, 270 - for England - is a good effort but we all know that it's like taking candy from a baby from the decent one day sides who would be pushing for 300+.

Could have done with Monty for this series.

Is it fair to say: India are currently the best side in the world?

Under Dhoni: in the 20/20, then the Australian Test matches as well as these ODI's I don't think i've seen us play any better then this.

Our average age in the current squad was something like 25.

I'm not just saying this because I'm biased; but I actually think under Dhoni we can become no.1 side in the world sooner rather then later.

Gambhir has probably been player of the current season and he didn't even play.

Our problem is bowlers I still think we need one more quality bowler coming through the ranks, I did think this was going to be RP Singh. But what sides have good bowling attacks?

I think you may have answered your own question.

The remaining ODI have been cancellled. The Test Series is in major doubt.

Does this mean the ODI series will be a draw due to it being abandoned?
