Maddison now in an impossible position if he comes on, as he’ll be playing with a few other subs probably and they won’t score ten so he’ll be a relative failure.

Btw. interesting article in the Athletic about players with no England caps but did sit on the bench. 142 of them in total. Including Micky Hazard who Bobby Robson had told at half time that when he came on he wanted him to run the game like he did the UEFA Cup final. Robson forgot all about him, never brought him on second half, let Spurs withdraw him for a money spinning friendly instead of being sub for the next game, and he never got a cap.

Chilwell was absolutely fantastic last night and should have been awarded MotM. Some excellent deliveries. Defensively we were a shambles yet again but that's to be expected when John Stones is selected for some mental reason.
