I think Henderson is a leader and I’ve supported him being in the team for that very reason, he’s about the only one we have.
I’m not saying he’s a great player or anything, but he has that about him, when others don’t.

I've criticised him in the past for punching the ball when he could easily have caught it. ( which he has largely stopped doing ) and his persistent kicking for touch which he has also reduced somewhat. His main strength is and always was shot stopping and there is nobody better currently in the Prem. Hes played an absolute blinder against Switzerland with several worldly saves. Long may it continue.

Yeah, I'm surprised nothing has come out as yet.
He withdrew from the England squad with a sore throat, which alone sounds a bit weak. England made it clear that he chose to withdraw from the squad rather than England's medical team making the call.
It is pretty obvious that Southgate has an issue with him. He all but named him as a key player whose behaviour he was unhappy with for England U21s in the summer. He's picked him because he'd get flak if he didn't but then chooses to leave him out over inferior players when it doesn't make sense.
I reckon that Southgate told him he wasn't playing again on Thursday and Maddison said or did something and leaving the squad was the outcome.
The fact that he was pictured in a casino whilst the England match he's 'unfit' for, is going on, says to me that Maddison wanted to be seen.
