As England have just lost their first qualifier in ten years, I would hope that would add a bit of piquancy to your torpor. That and the nineteen goals they managed in the first four games of the present campaign against the international equivalents of Newcastle United, must have tickled your fancy a smidge, surely.

Southgate is full of shit. The whole England set up is flawed. They say because they invest in players from when they're younger that they continue to have similar squads and continue to keep the faith with them as they get older. But the simple "what about if they become shit" logic is ignored. Maddison is head and shoulders above the majority of others in his position. Even Vardy. He left the set up because they used in incorrectly or just didn't use him. When will this pile of shit set up change to include the best English footballers at any particular time?
