I can see the case for Chilwell, but Gray? He's a decent enough player but he really does flatter to deceive most of the time.
 
Gray being in the England squad just shows how little attacking options we have! We don't even play with wingers...

Chilwell's call up is deserved by current standards.

Suspect the game being at the KP played a part in both call ups though.
 
Gray ahead of Maddison is a travesty.

Don't get all the 'hate' that Gray gets.

He's one of the brightest English prospects, still really young and will definitely offer England another option they don't have at the moment.

People seem to expect him to match Mahrez's title winning form but seem to forget that it took Mahrez a good 2-3 years before he started to get to that standard and do it regularly.

Maddison has had a great start but it's only a handful of appearances so far, Gray has over 100 for us and is regularly the stand out player for the U21s - deserved call up imo.

2-3 years? Mahrez arrived 1,5 season before the title winning season started.
 
I think Gray gets a hard time from some on here and I absolutely include myself in that number. The more I've seen him this season the more I think that there is a very talented player in there that just needs a bit of 'nurturing' for want of a better word. Sometimes he does things that are wonderful and he scares defenders to death, other times he looks a little lost and worried about making a mistake. I'm going to lay off him a bit this season and hope that Puel or whoever else can get the best out of him.

Why do I get the feeling I'll be calling him a useless prick come the Bournemouth game....? I'm such a shallow bastard.

He's not good enough to get a regular start in our team, and he gets called up for England.

Point still stands though, he was bang average that first season in the prem.

Gray had only really played one full season in the Championship before he signed for us, he's not had regularly opportunities since until now so it is pretty stupid to expect him to play like Mahrez 'that year'.

He certainly offers us something different and is an exciting player to watch. Just give him a few years before expecting him to win PL player of the year.
