It was probably a 'fan's idea' from somebody who has seen how well it works elsewhere. I first saw it done at PSV Eindhoven and I have got to say that I was amazed by the amount that it 'stepped up' the atmosphere. I think it is a really good idea but the presentation of it yesterday was appalling.

I've always supported him in the past, but he seems to be spiralling downwards into a caricature of his own inanity. Personally I have never been one who has much sympathy for those who want to politically correct all of the time but some of Birch's remarks seriously stretch the bounds of decency.

I have heard it done at Anderlecht to incredible effect but its firmly a continental thing. UK Footie Name and a 'hey'
