:038: top performance from tiatto, credit where credit is due alot of us have criticised him for the way he was playing, but now hats off to him he proved us wrong he was like the tiatto we saw and loved in the 04/05 season, he was man of the match for me even though he only played till just before h.t

Excellent performance and fair play to Rob Kelly who made some very brave decisions today. This was the type of performance we were crying out out for.

Tiatto was excellent and the balance of the side today was there for all to see. Massive improvement and a sign that we are still on the right track, complete opposite of the shite served up over the last 2 games, also noticed that the spirit and togetherness of the team today mirrored what was witnessed last season during the great run under RK.

Without a doubt.

As I have said, Tiatto impressed. Fryatt was excellent - deserved at least one goal. The Ipswich defence seemed to struggle with him and Hammond - another player who performed well. Hughes was quiet but effective on the ball. Johnson was quiet, didn't see him do much. Low was exactly what we needed. He's got good pace and a cracking cross - the kind of player we've been needing for a long time. Kisnorbo and McCarthy were rock solid at the back, Kenton was a bit crazy coming forward but his defensive work was good. Johansson impressed me as well. Hopefully he can get his way back into the starting XI.

Same team and performance at Cov please.

A quick note about the fans, I thought we were excellent. The kop even started the "E-I-E-I-E-I-O" and the "East Stand, start the wave" chants.

Brilliant day. Hopefully we get more of the same in the season to come.

Disagree as regards Johnson, thought he was man of the match today, he is a real influence on the team, constantly directing players on where they should be, and his passing today was excellent, IMO he controlled the game and set the tempo.

AJ was my MOM as well. He bossed the midfield and was constantly shouting commands everywhere, this is just what we needed. Was always there to throw a tackle in or win the ball, and his passes rarely went astray

Oh go on then, give away all my secrets...

Couldn't get anywhere near a telly or a radio yesterday but so chuffed to see the result and then read up on here about how well we played. It's typical Leicester from despair to ridiculous levels of optimism - I'm sure we're somewhere in the middle - but isn't that what we follow sport for?

As has been said elsewhere Friday night is a big test - for performance levels perhaps more than the result. Have the changes made a difference or where Ipswich THAT bad?

Not being a natural footballer I find it's difficult to determine whether yesterday's performance was more down to Ipswich's hopeless play or our excellence. I incline more to the former, though.

Whatever, that was certainly the worst Ipswich team I have ever seen City play, and that includes our 5-0 win in 73/74(?).

Bit of both me thinks. Low and Hughesie were excellent and Johansson had a good game. Still not sure about Elvis. Ipswich were terrible as well, but we have to give ourselves credit where it's due. Hopefully, the lads will recognise that they were excellent, hopefully they will recognise that the fans are very much behind them, and hopefully they will go down the M69 on Friday night and put in another brilliant performance.

:038: Spot on No.6 Muzzy Izzet, I only hope he scores goals like that on a regular basis and commands his position (rightly so) in the centre of midfield and if he does all you GW fans on here are going to left dissapointed.:098:

Hats off to Rob Kelly for the starting 11 yesterday, Josh low showed once again that he is the man for the right wing and Kenton did well behind him. The biggest surprise for me was Tiatto's performance as I said to my mate at the start of the game why the hell has RK picked Tiatto again but I was soon eating my words as he had an awesome game, just a pity he got injured but was glad to see Porter given a chance.
I felt that Hammond stayed on the pitch too long and if Hume came on a bit sooner we may have killed Ipswich off well before they scored.
Ipswich were poor but I am sure the result will give the lads the confidence they need to go on and beat Co***try on Friday night.

Thanks Joe. Nicely taken goals. Would be nice if Tiatto could put balls like that in every time, was a great free kick. Also a very good finish from Hume.

so 'josh low is on the other side' and that has somehow enabled Tiatto to play better.

how does that work?

I don't know how it worked but it did. A major difference was that the midfield spent most of its time facing the opponent's goal rather than facing backwards.

maybe [Tiatto's] parrot is whispering instructions in his ear.

:icon_lol: This is my nomination for funniest contribution of the year!

And did they start it? Did they ****! Lazy tossers!!

The Telegraphs writeup of the game said the scoreline flattered Ipswich.

They said Stevie Hughes was MOTM, but highlighted Fryatt with a very positive profile on him

Profile: Matty Fryatt

With no goals and no points going into the Ipswich match, there was a certain expectancy placed on Leicester's forwards. The present crop are not quite yet in the class of, say, Gary Lineker or Alan Smith, but one local lad has become a firm favourite with the Leicester fans since his transfer from Walsall in January.

Although midfielder Stephen Hughes won the man-of-the-match bubbly, 20-year-old forward Matty Fryatt epitomised Leicester's passion and their desire to win.

On another day, he could have had a hat-trick: one goal was ruled out by a harsh offside flag, another chance was cleared off the line and a first-half mis-kick wasted perhaps his best opening. He created the third goal, though, a deft touch on the turn setting up substitute Iain Hume. But more than all that, Fryatt's work rate impressed.

For all their failings, Ipswich do not lack muscle at the back. Fryatt's willingness to put himself about unsettled the opposition. He loses half a foot in height to 6ft 4in De Vos, but one tussle ended in a Leicester corner when the Ipswich captain only had to make a simple clearance. Once Fryatt gets his first goal of the season, you suspect a hatful more might follow.

Nice to hear such good things from an external source about our players, especially I think when they're talking about his great passion.
