Technically gifted, my arse.

His main attribute is his ability to put himself about, both in possession and when chasing down opponents. He is pretty strong and not scared of sticking his elbow/shoulder/arse into an opponent. He needs to get fit, something that he hasn't bothered to do for the last two seasons. Then his main attributes will be fully utilised.

He is technically average with the ball at his feet. His passing and positional sense are dire. He has no pace. His finishing is usually disappointing.

Overall, he's an okay player.

I disagree strongly. Fryatt is a very able player who recently just couldn't be arsed. But positionally he's far superior to any other of our strikers, not that it's saying much - Campbell, for example, is dire, positionally, and John hasn't got instant acceleration which is Fryatt's saving grave. Instant acceleration for me is better than mere pace and is the key to beating the offside trap. And Fryatt turns on a sixpence, something else I like about him, and turns the defender the wrong way. He has fast feet, and a really good centre of gravity. I like him when he's on song, as he was today, and reads the game very well when he concentrates.

Today was the best I've seen him, Stearman and Clemence play for a while.

Given the nature of the Championship, Fryett is potentially as good as any striker in it. The question mark is on his commitment and concentration.

All my opinion, of course, and I could be totally wrong.........

I agree with Innocent. From what I've seen (not much) Fryatt has a lot of potential but for one or another reason he can't get it out on the pitch (=not scoring). I have a feeling it might have to do with confidence, or perhaps his motivation as you say.

im there on saturday so i take hope from what i heared on RL and what im hearing on here- they best not let me down and deliver one of those drab lifeless performances that weve all become used to

I'd like to think that this is the new real Leicester City :)

I prefferd the old one, its fun when we are getting really nervous in the stands, when we are 1-0 up and it is in the last 10 mins, and then we just throw it away, the feeling is great :icon_bigg:081::icon_lol:

Yes that was more preferable innit? :icon_conf

I went to an amateur theatre production in Dawlish a few years ago, was really good fun. Not sure what your refering to though?

The audience participation one. You go dressed up as either nuns, nazis or clad in lederhosen and sing-a-long with the songs as they are being performed.

The other audience participation one I always wanted to go to was Rocky Horror. Always fancied a 'legitimate' reason to wear suspenders and stiletto's :023:

I love Melts, fact. I also think Fryatt is a better player than he has demonstrated for the last, god-knows-how-long...

I love the fact we're all on here having ickle rows. Love it.

2-0 - 3 points - good performances - we're fecking fecked on this forum if this becomes the norm, pure 'Lord of the Flies'....We will eat each other... (not like that HF).

Now then....Who thinks we may get Joey back in Jan?

I see this result as a win and that about it. we are 18th, there is no need to get excited and start chatting about anything but the next match, if we can win a few then i'll be excited but so far, i am less then pleased this year of 2007 with leicester city,

With the summer of signings and MM here too many high expections we have now come to reality that we are shit untill we have a balace team that are consistant and do not win one match then cant win in 8

Homer's post on here wasn't done by him. There was no irony. Or was there?

i thought stearman was motm and thought clemence had his best game for us (not hard to beat i know) and chambers and fryatt were very good as well..thought it was an easy win giving their away record but they probably thought that our game was their best chance of getting their 1st away win and they hardly troubled fulop...all in all a good team performance now the real test v charlton on saturday

Re: Ipswich Match Thread

A guy sitting behind me in F1 was laughing and cursing his luck with a few mates as he just missed out on a 3-0 bet slip too (this was after the Fryatt/Hume break at the end which saw Hume's shot saved) - was it you by any chance?

Overall very pleased with the performance.

One man who played very well today from start to finish was Stephen Clemence, which hopefully suggests he has broken away from the poor form he has shown in the past few weeks. Really driven the team forward today, exactly what we want.

Apart from the fact I wasn't laughing-more muttering about playing keepyball when I wanted it down our end of the pitch.....I'm also not a bloke.......well, not since last time I looked anyhoo!:icon_razz

Exactly. This was a match that I expected and predicted us to win. 3 extremely precious points that we may well be glad of at the end of the season.

I shall be going on Saturday, hopeful but not confident. I half expect us to revert back to the norm against Charlton and as you say that match will be the real test a) because they are a better away side than Ipswich and b) because almost every struggling team like us can raise their game for the odd match.
Let's hope that we can defy that pattern and put together back to back wins and set up a better New Year.

Sodje got sent off yesterday for Charlton, is he a midfielder of defender?

If he is a defender does that mean Paddy might play?

If he does, there be a good chance of a penalty......

Not entirely sure but Paddy M was standing next to him when the red card was shown, so may play regardless.

So he was playing then.
I used to like Paddy, but not in a footballing way.........
At least if the match is cack on satdee I can watch him instead!:icon_bigg

aye, watch him run around like a **** trying to get sent off :)
