Just pointing out that TNBD and McCahill are the two most determined that the Mandaric deal goes through regardless. And those who are most critical of our current plight point fingers in their direction...

ah, i don't think they could interfere too much though with any rival bid? if its put forward on time, aren't they obliged to make shareholders aware?

Yeah, pretty much. If someone publicly commits to an offer of 25p a share, they're stuffed.

i think they (personally) are stuffed either way if thats the sort of figure.

hopefully they will support whichever is best for the club.

i worry though from the FTs post that both bids will fail. what happens then?

Maybe they didn't do anything earlier because they initially believed MM would be the best option for the club, but now they think they could do a better job.

my beef is, if a 2nd bid comes in and it involves current board members or any of the ones that resigned I will be thinking what the hell you had your chance why didnt you put the money in before as they certianly wouldnt have if MM didnt come in.

If its a current shareholder who wasnt on the board, ie. martin goerge then fair enough it would hopefully still mean a change of regime.

Because they weren't allowed to due to the 10% rule?

But if it looks like the shareholders are prepared to change this rule, when maybe they weren't in the past, it could open the door to new investment from the current shareholders.

Nothing is ever what it seems.

There have been some surprising conversations going on in the last couple of weeks.

of course it isn't, whatever floats your boat.
I wouldn't consider myself a fan of organisations like the FT but I just do not understand why people enjoy throwing house bricks at them at every possible oppurtunity.
I find it a little tragic if I'm completely honest.

God help you when a real tragedy crosses your path!

If there is a rival bid from people that have been involved with this club for the last 4 years and watched it crumble from the inside, I hope they take their money, feck off and rot in hell with it.

As has already been pointed out, the 10% ownership rule has tended to inhibit any development. It's only since the MM saga started that enough people have realised that it needs to be removed.

I'm not talking about that.

I'm talking about them watching the club become less valuable day by day and then resigning to make a bid. They could have resigned and put in a bid 2 or 3 years ago when the club was worth more, but yet again, they wish to appear like Mighty Mouse and come in to save the day at the last minute.

Any news on the content or reaction to last nights meeting ???

Is it a rival bid :102:

If so who is involved :102:

What support have they got from current shareholders :102:

eeerrr... Andrew Taylor couldn't have resigned 2 or 3 years ago - he was only appointed just over a year ago. I think this bloke needs some credit - having been appointed to attract investment of one kind or another, he got the MM bid and ran with it until he came to believe it wasn't worthy. He now seems to be trying to get something better together, even though he is no longer charged with that responsibility.

If you re-read my posts Boc, I'm not referring to Andrew Taylor, the other resignees or anybody specific.

My two posts have been hypothetical in repsonse to all the hypothetical stories about rival bids, although this morning I do understand it to be more than hypothetical.

I have been more than quiet in my appreciation for Andrew Taylor

Sure they can. This goes back to my comments I made at the time of them quitting, the three of them (I am presuming this) must hold around 10% and will have many friends that are shareholders, who is to say that they do not have a 'quite word in the ear' about there plans drumming up the other 15% + that will make the MM bid fall flat on its arse, the dust settles and they come in with the new 'bid'?

Would be interesting to see how the fans would react to this as I feel most would be close to Meltons comments on the subject.

Sorry Boc, had it in my mind that the meeting was taking place yesterday :icon_redf

What,a meeting on Wednesday ! What about ? Who's going ? What time ? Why are they meeting ? Will they be discussing something important ? When will we know ? Will there be a decision ?

Wait, am I going mad ? Will the Thursday meeting still happen ? What are they discussing ?

Woah.....I'm confused......wish SOMEONE would actually buy the club !

What,a meeting on Wednesday ! No Thursday
What about ? Moaning mardies trying to stop the evil foreigner from taking over our football club
Who's going ? The aforementioned Moaning mardies
What time ? 7.30 (probably)
Why are they meeting ? See above
Will they be discussing something important ? See above
When will we know ? It is irrelevant so we don't need to
Will there be a decision ? Doubt it

Wait, am I going mad ? Undoubtedly
Will the Thursday meeting still happen ? I've just told you
What are they discussing ? How many more times I have got to tell you ?

Woah.....I'm confused......wish SOMEONE would actually buy the club ! It's just around the corner
