We've needed a striker who can head a ball for a long time. Ulloa is good at that but Slimani seems better at putting it in the net as opposed to just wide.

Very harsh on Leo Imo.

Especially as he usually comes on as part of a tactical switch which sees our main crosser of the ball (Albrighton) leave the pitch.

I'm not saying that Slimani isn't a better header than Ulloa, since I haven't seen enough of him yet. But I find it strange that people don't rate Ulloa higher than this.

BTW, Kaebi looked excellent on YouTube.

A fantastic show of intent and looks great.

I just wonder where he will fit as Okazaki is the glue that joins midfield to front and when we dropped him we totally lost cohesion.

A fantastic problem to have, but Claudio had his work cut out keeping our strikers happy as I can't see Vardy or Mahrez being dropped.

Integral

I fear for our balance if he is cast aside.
I agree. My comment was, slightly joking, about the ability to head in reference to his height (which he does very well for his size though)

I love Leo - he's a cross between Joe Jordan and Norman Leet but I'm expecting Slimani to be a step up from him. If not then Leo will still get his bench spot. IMO Leo is a main striker for an 11th to 18th position prem team. Normally I'd be more than happy with that - now I want strikers who can play in the CL without looking out of place.

I also love that at last Okazaki is getting some respect, my only problem with him is that he isn't a good goalscorer, he is the playing the role that could be (is normally) fulfilled by a midfielder. Our "problem" is that we want to play with 2 wide men but unless they are scoring goals (as Mahrez did last year) we are ****ed. Albrighton, likewise, is great but he can't score for toffee apples. We need more than Vardy to score for us to have a decent season.

I think Albrighton is one of the reasons why we can play two central midfielders. His work rate is phenomenal and he covers his full-back superbly.

I agree. I think that he and Okazaki are both vital to how we play. They both deserve their spot right now.

What is important is that he facilitates goal scoring chances. When he was not in the team we created a lot less.

I'm not disagreeing. Love him. He keeps the opposition from scoring and puts in crosses like a vampire hunter at a Dracula convention. But he can't score and despite putting himself in great positions never looks like scoring. We do have to score goals and last year we relied heavily on Vardy and Mahrez and teams have changed the way they play those too.

They do from a workrate and defensive pov. But we haven't scored enough goals in our first three games - we were miserable in our first 2 and really Swansea were there to knock 4 past. Neither of them are going to score 5 over the course of the season. We have to hope that the opgrades maintain the defensive workrate whilst increasing the goals scored.

So what you're saying then is that Vardy - our only goalscorer - has to be replaced with someone who puts away more chances or have I got that wrong? It would be nice if Drinky, Amartey, Albrighton and our second forward Okazaki would knock in 20 -25 goals between them in the season but they haven't shown that they can do that. With Mahrez now getting double marked we need to have more scoring threat. To me that would look like Okazaki and albrighton (since Musa can play down the left) are the two whose places are most under threat.

Yes you have that wrong.

If you create you give yourself a chance for players like Vardy to score. He can't plough a lone furrow. He needs facilitators, people to make chances.

We were not good against Hull first game because we missed Albrighton and Okazaki. They came back in and we have looked a lot better. We have also created a lot more opportunity to win games.

Looking better and scoring goals are 2 different things. We couldn't score against an Arsenal team who had Holding in the centre of their defence and we only scored 2 against a woeful Swansea team - after having scored nothing against a woeful Hull team.

Both Okazaki and Albrighton have holes in their games in that they can't score. This is not so important for Albrighton as he does swing the ball in and work back hard, it is more of a problem for Okazaki as he is our secondary goalscorer in the team and should have a lot of room with defences keying on Vardy and playing at least 2 on Mahrez.

If we stick with Okazaki and albrighton and the others I'm sure we'll do fine and finish mid table but we want better than that. We've bought players to improve the team - specifically the goal scoring. That means that at least a couple of people are going to be dropped from the team over the next few weeks.

Are you saying that you are happy to stick with the team as of last week and not play Musa or Slimani? Answer me who you are dropping from the team if anyone. Whether you are happy or not I'm pretty sure that CR and TOP have spent £50m on these 2 players because they see them as upgrades and intend to play at least one of them in the first team.

If you look objectively at our team, we have only two serious goal threats. Stop them and you stop us. I'm generalising but you get the point.

I'm well aware of the qualities Okazaki and Albrighton bring and their integral role in the team ethic. But we can definitely improve on both of them.

Okazaki barely offers any goal threat and is too easily knocked off the ball. He doesn't create goals enough either.

Albrighton offers no goal threat and does the same one dimensional thing every time he gets the ball. I could say the same about Beckham so that's not necessarily a criticism.

Slimani is a major upgrade on Okazaki on paper. He does the hard work plus has a greater physical presence and scores goals.

Slimani, Vardy and Mahrez are potentially a perfectly balanced and devastating forward line.

Aye, they are all mid table shitters, we'll never achieve better than that with these duffers.

All went downhill when we failed to get Remy in January. Could've secured a European spot with him.

Just think how good it could have been if we'd signed Frazier Campbell a couple of years ago as some on here were suggesting.
