It is to be hoped that her ignoring of the result of one of those checks will cause a similar huge rise in the number of women not ignoring their own 'potentially adverse' results and actually going and getting the treatment that they need. If only Jade had done the same, we might all have been spared the recent undignified and inglorious circus.

Now you're making it up. *Some* people have not said that. *One* person has said that - But a whole lot more got fed up of hearing about her when she lived, when she was ill and now again when she has died. She is not a star in any sense of the word; she is nothing to admire.

I didn't know the woman. If she was on the tv I'd turn over, but she has earned more in the last 7 years than I have and I'd dare say a bloody lot of people in this country have.

Maybe there's a bit of the green eyed monster.....

I'd also say that if any of us found ourselves in a similar situation, we'd do our damn best to ensure that our loved ones would be well catered for after our demise.

It's nothing to do with money or fame.

For me, she represents all that this country is becoming. Thick, ignorant, lazy talentless ****s and famous because of it.

She represents the dumbing down of television, the dumbing down of society and the general person I see hanging around my local shop doorway. She is a role model for the brainless, she deserves no place at the top of people's affections.

There are millions of people suffering silently all over the world, they are full of dignity. She was a horrible, dirty, foul mouthed repulsive creature. Death can't take that away.

Yes, if she encourages people to go and get themselves regularly checked, then maybe the publicity is worth it. But only the dumbest of dumbest people can possibly turn round and say "Cancer? Blimey, I'd better get myself checked".

Please don't be fooled into thinking her campaigning over the last few months has been about raising awareness for others. It's been about greed, self publicity and ego massaging, it's as simple as that.

She's been a media whore for the past seven years, the very fact that she has been on three Big Brother's is testimony to that. She craved publicity, it was a drug. Even in death she couldn't let it go and the thick people of this country gave it to her.

She is no hero, she was on no awareness campain, she was greedy.

I wouldn't say they were necessarily ignorant. There are lots of reasons for ignoring a smear test letter. People are busy, they feel well, they are young, it's really not very pleasant - I have friends who wont go because they are genuinely scared.

You see the letter and put if off until a later date.

Suddenly you see someone who has died at a very young age and it hits home that maybe it does affect women in their 20s afterall....


People chose to die in different ways. Some surround themselves with all their family and everyone they know, others retreat and prefer to be alone. At least you can say she handled the last few weeks in a way that was true to herself.

I can categorically say that were I in a similar situation, I would not prostitute myself in the way that she did.

Not a great example of stupidity in fairness DV, it's a common misconception that I've actually seen in a textbook.
Plus, if you have a big enough plughole, in a very big bath, it will spin in different directions depending on which hemisphere you're in.

I feel sorry for her two boys who have lost their mother at such a young age, it is sad that she has died.

However the tributes are IMO undeserving, prior to contracting this terrible disease she was a foul mouthed, racist bully. She has publicised her decline with the sole purpose of making money and keeping herself in the public domain, at times to the detriment of her boys, who have suffered the harrowing experience of watching their Mum die, but had to do it in the full glare of the public FFS. I don't think at any time this was done with the intention of raising awareness. The increase in screening has been a coincidence IMO bought on by the fact that a 27 year old woman is dying and it has made girls of that age think.

I found her mothers plea to be left alone at last, pretty galling when all the publicity has been self inflicted.

It is a terribly sad situation but I found the publicity stunt in very bad taste and whilst I am sure she wanted to safeguard her son's futures, did she really have their best interests at heart when sharing intimate and difficult times with her boys with the nations media. I thought parents were meant to protect their children, Jeff Brazier is in the public eye and I am sure he has earned enough money and will continue to do so in order to support the boys so did she really need to spend her last few weeks whoring herself about in public, shouldn't she have been spending quality time with her sons, sharing times they will treasure rather than subjecting them to this media circus.

I am sorry but the last few weeks have been about Jade and Max Clifford being in the limelight, she has put her family secondary to her own ego and desire to crave attention.
