What constitutes a 'proper brand' and how will it be 'nice'? :102:

Personal opinion I guess

I've worked in the sports industry for over 20 years in retail and for brands and there is kudos and credibility attached to the brands with heritage and product innovation.

I'm also of the age when footwear and clothing brands were first discovered by football fans

I understand it isn't important to everyone

Newts-are we getting rid of jako???

LCFC SHOP-as i said we ae not restocking

Mrs Dour went in and asked for a discount on the black away shirt. The assistant had to speak to the manager who said, "Just get rid of them" [meaning the shirts - not Mrs Dour] and gave a tenner off.

so it looks like its bye bye jako then.

i know the tracksuits have been crap ,rain jackets dont stop the rain getting through ,but the train tops have been good thats te only plus side TBH .

I heard somewhere that Villa's new shirt sponser is actually a chosen charity. I personally this is a brilliant idea and that more footie clubs should do the same

its Acorns children hospital. Barcelona have a similar scheme with UNICEF but thats about it as far as i know.

A Derby fan I know is not happy with the quality of the shirt and having to pay through the nose rubs salt into the wound.Jako is crap and I couldn't believe what was being sold in the shop as a lot of it appeard to be 2nds.

I've been asked (by a much loved stalwart of this forum who can't get to a computer at the moment) to pass on the following message:

"Jako have deffo been pissed off. Between Adidas, someone else whose name I forget (me forgot, not the much loved stalwart of this forum!) and Admiral for replacement."

Make of that what you will. I for one would love Admiral again.

Tar mate ,ive just called in home for some more kit i need for tonights training 8-10pm ,the other kit maker is mitre.

the reason jako ihas been dumped is the qualty and the over sizing of the kit.

this is now fact jako is gone.

the three bidding for our new kit is Admiral,Mitre,Adidas.

I really couldn't care any less about who wins the contract to make the shirts, they could get them knocked together in a back street factory in Belgrave for all I care.
As long as the team wins while they're wearing them, that's all I'm interested in.

when i played football, (sunday league nothing good) putting on a nice new pair of fancy named boots made me feel a better player, gave me extra confidence, even if there was absolutly no logical reason to back this up.

I think an LCFC player pulling on an Adidas shirt instead of a Jako shirt might have the same kind of effect.

Just a thought.
