Well I think all in all that was good business for Everton. As a league one player you can't deny his goals, however his all round play has always been quesionable and its obvious his step up from league one was too big. From a Leeds point of view our team going forward strengthened when Beckford left. Ok we were crap at the back but going forward Leeds were one of the best teams in the division. Becchio scored more goals than in league one,so did Gradel Howson and Snodgrass. I guess my point being there wasn't that 'selfish' targetman anymore and the team going forward started to play much better which was a good shock seeing as most Leeds fans at the time didn't want him to go.
Im not surprised Beckford has left the prem, I am surprised Leicester paid £4m for him. He loses the ball more than he gets it, he is extremely lazy (and I dont believe the myth that a good striker is lazy) but one on one he is exceptional "in league one". I can't see him struggling at all in this league but he still needs to learn that all round game that didnt fail him in league one but failed him in the prem.

umadbro?

Beckford was Everton's top scorer last season, and averaged just less than 1 in 3, even if you add all his minutes together.

I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts.

Exactly. An Everton fan on TalkSport was saying that he wasn't Prem class, which I thought says a lot about Everton really. If your top scorer isn't good enough for your division, you are probably going to struggle.

Why should I be jealous. Im giving you my view after seeing him play for 3 years. You haven't seen him really play like I did. The players I mentioned notched up less than half the goals they did when they were in lg1. All I'm saying is Beckford isn't a team player which is all good and well when you play the long ball style in league one but in the style you play you will also become frustrated in his weakneses. If it was a toss up between Becchio and Beckford now then I would keep Becchio hands down because he has more attributes than Beckford. His team play is massive,he gives defenders and midfielders a tough time,he works hard and he got himself 20+ goals last season. I wouldn't have chosen Becchio in league one but as an overall footballer Becchio is better. Like I say i'm just pointing things out that was seen by many. Beckford hasn't convincinly proved himself yet.

He's proved himself to be a Premiership goalscorer, Becchio hasn't.

Change your name to Derek and people might take you seriously.

I promise you this, if I woke up tomorrow and Becchio was our best striker I would throw myself in the Trent.

The fact you are even comparing the two makes me feel giddy.

At the end of the season lets see who has the most goals.

Echo?

Why would Bazzles lie? He's the only decent Leeds fan we've had round here. The point, Baz, is that some strikers don't need to run around for 90 minutes. If he scores and creates goals at the same sort of rate Yakubu did last season, he'll be popular with anyone who knows football. Less so with the utter wankers who abused Yak for being lazy (like the fat bloke I sat a few seats from at Donny - boy did I enjoy rubbing Yakubu's goal in his fat face).

The three best players for Leeds over recent seasons have been Schmeichel, Beckford and Gradel. One of them wasn't good enough for us, the other two are now at Leicester.

Nuff said. Good luck with your relegation battle!

Is that the one that we tried to buy back on deadline day?
