The way it always used to happen was people nominated themselves for clubs etc but it was never a requirement to go to games and rate players.

All I can say is I know a guy that got paid to go to games and put together ratings for champ manager.

He doesn't do the graphics. He helps with the development of the game engine, which runs the players make/the build-up to goals/trying to add realism to watching dots kick another dot around a pitch.

All I would say is unless I saw the payslip I wouldnt believe him
Pretty sure he is (vaguely) right... they don't pay loads and loads of people, but each club (at least in the UK I think) has its own "scout", who gets paid for the data for their team I think.
Chelsea actually hired one of those people as a scout a few years back (since Roman took over)

It's also fair to say that if he was right footed, there wouldn't have been any fuss about him at all.
Levi Porter is pub league standard as a right footer, as a leftie he's getting a few years as a pro.
Even a loved leftie like Guppy would have been pretty average toss if right footed.
