Johansson wants out apparently 'to a premiership club'.
He chooses the start of the season to make this statement, and he chooses a time at which the teams fragile confidence is starting to build a little.
Who does he think he is? Joey Gudjonsson? because he isn't.
His performances since his transfer to us have been ok, but don't mark him out as worthy of a premiership place. He has little pace and is often at fault when we concede set piece goals. Paddy, Kisnorbo and Stearman are more integral to the defence.

I would sell him for 250k to watford or sunderland or anyone else for that matter and buy in a player thats wants to play for th club.
Meanwhile, drop sheehan in at left back. He fits the bill of a young trier with a bit of pace, a good free kick and he's got a bit of a temper on him too which marks him out as someone whi is desperate to win. All of a sudden our left side would have the sort of pace that Luton showed when we played down at their place. Better than the Johansson - Tiatto partnership that got torn up on the opening day.

Just out of curiosity, why did you use Joey as an example.

He was OK, and was our best player last year. But he aint no prem star, and not a player our players should be aspiring to be.

But in general agree with you

But I see Joeys new team won their opening fixture 8-1 on Saturday

Gudjonsson wasn't premier league quality, but he scored the best goal ever scored by a leicester player and had more integrity in his decision making and the timing of his statement than Johansson has.
sell him and sell maybury, and then spend the money well,
it's a win win situation.

Nils is technically the best defender here, he has no pace or awareness. But he uses his body better than any other City defender. Sheehan will never make it, hes useless and a dirty bastard to boot.

he technically went missing for the whole game against luton and was walking a tight rope every time the ball came into the box in the direction of Barnett. And he doesn't want to paly for us so f*** him.

11 players were fecking crap that day. Its probably agent talk drummin up interest and secondly surely everyone aspires to play in the Premiership. Any of players could ask about a move higher up and they would consider it.

Where has Johansson said that he wants out? The only quotes of his that I've seen have said that when his contract ends here he will either go to a Prem club, if there is an offer, or to the club his family support.

Not bothered, let him do what he wants.

Never thought he was pledging his undying alliegance to us the day he signed anyway.:102:

im sorry but how any of you who pay his wages can turn around and not be pissed off by this is beyond me. fine he may want to move at the end of the season but why come out with that now and why say he wants something better.

I get ****ing pissed off with anyone who bad mouths my club and never in my life do i expect a first team regular to turn around and say he wants something better.

pretty much ****s up the 'were in it together' slogan dont you think.

Feck off you prick your no better than anyone at this club and you certainly arnt good enough for the prem.

theres a difference to pledging that and doing the bare minimum which is doing your best and respecting the club and its fans, he's done neither.

From the sounds of it, these comments originated in the Scandanavian press and I'm sure he said something about 'seeing what the club offers', thus you have to remember that what he said may sound worse following translation, especially with the British press, im sure, taking artistic licesnse... 'Johnasson considering his options' isnt quite the same story as 'Johnasson wants to leave'.

Sheehan is completely unproven and we have no other left back, so atm he is our only option. Keep him for the rest of the season and he will have signed on a free, left on a free, having done a reasonable job, no harm done.

Exactly Silver, theres not one of them who wouldn't have it on their toes if a better offer came in.

still dont want people in my squad who want to leave and as he says wants something better. id rather have AS in there if he wants to play for the club

Kelly seems to be giving the youngsters a chance but hasnt tried Sheehan, I think this probably says something about his ability. I'd rather have someone who can do their job properly for a season.

In any case, if Johansson were to go and Sheehan was the best thing since Ashley Cole, what would happen id he got injured?

So you'd have dropped Joey, Muzzy, Savage etc half way through the season when it was obvious they were going to leave?

When Fryatt signed he indicated that we were a stepping stone for him before going on to a bigger club. Would you drop him too?

No i certainly wouldnt do that because that would be stupid wouldnt it.
non of the above players came out at the beggining of an important season and said they were looking for something BETTER publicly like he has. only a fecking mule would say such a thing in a job, muzzy placed himself on the transfer market which is the correct way to do things but he never put the club down by saying he wanted something better.

it's up to you jeff if you want people in the starting line up who are only concerned with playing for a better club, if you ask me his heart wont be in playing for city, which for me is the bare minimum i require so he's failed at the first hurdle.
