Allen: There's still "business to do"

Leicester City Manager Martin Allen says there will be even more new arrivals at the Walkers Stadium over the next few weeks, but he's got an idea of which players will be in the first 11.

Leicester City Manager Martin Allen says that there will be more new signings arriving at the Walkers Stadium in the near future.

He's pleased with the progress the squad are making, and says that although he's staying open-minded, he has got an idea who will be in the first 11.

BBC Leicester's Jon Barber spoke to City Manager Martin Allen and new signing Stephen Clemence after the Foxes' pre-season friendly against Hinckley...

"They have to be dedicated, detached from normal life and live like a monk to be a top, top quality player."
Martin Allen, City Manager

Allen says that although a lot of attention has been focused on his talks with D.J. Campbell and Robbie Fowler, there's several other players he's also considering signing.

He recognises the weaknesses in the team and has been looking into where improvements can be made, along with City Chairman Milan Mandaric.

He's pleased with the determination of the squad, and is trying to drill into them the importance of a good attitude:

"They have to be dedicated, detached from normal life and live like a monk to be a top, top quality player."
Clemence: Be patient

New signing Stephen Clemence played his first game for Leicester against Hinckley, and was glad that he got to put on his shirt and participate in the 3-1 victory.

He was impressed with the buzz among the fans as a result of all the new signings, but he hopes expectations won't be too steep:

"There's a lot of optimism here, the fans have been coming out expecting us to do well, but there's got to be a little bit of patience as well and not too much expectation early on.

"There are a lot of new players and it's going to take a little bit of time for us to gel, but we will be aiming to come out on those starting blocks in the first game against Blackpool and try to get off on a good start and hopefully take some momentum into the season."
