Good defensive performance, could have nicked it. Missed Hume and Smith and Elvis.. but things are improving.. off to my pit!

And after the first 10 mins nor did they !! we were very unlucky to loose this match, we dominated most of the game and had NO luck at all, fingertips away from penalties and Boltons tactics following our (superb) goal were a disgrace !!!

did many fans make the trip up there? good atmosphere? how am i going to get my assignment done on time?

heres my assesment on tonights game ;

also i have just got back from the game. a top day/night out and so unlucky to come away from it losing.

Rab was good in goal, he made an early stop superbly with his foot and he commanded well, other than this he wasnt challenged too much.

the back four were great, maybury and stearman looked to attack at times & were fantastic. back to best with maybury and more of the same from stearman! johansson looked comfertable in his preferred role & dion was pretty phenomenal.

hammil was quite and didnt get stuck in much, tiatto i thought was exceptional with some good passing, good link up play and hard but fair tackles. williams mis-placed a few passes and looked a bit half hearted in the 1st half but 2nd he improved, and that goal was some shot i cant wait to see it tomorrow on the replays etc. Hughes was fairly non-existant this can only be because of his lack of match fitness. i hope he is back to best on saturday.

de vries showed good control and he did win alot of headers, he held the ball up well but his team mates werent always on the same level as him. shame. dublin so deserved another last-gasp goal but it was a fantastic save by jusi jaaskeliynen (sp?!)

in all fairness i am happy with the result, it was great feeling to score a goal. shove that quality strike in ya premiership hotpot! The Reebok is a nice ground to look at, but once inside it just feels like a baseball stadium, with the curved lines to the seats which are also let down by the fact they could fit so many more fans in (not that they had any, does anyone know the official ATT?) there fans were poor too they only had 1 song (WHO ARE YA?!) which isnt the most original is it? but this could be because that small corner which did sing was full of 10-12 year olds. i had some little rats outside the ground shouting me down as midland scum. i replied with a barrage of "dirty northern chav bastards" a few LCFC fans around me chuckled. it was also nice that our fans sang after we went 1-0 down, then 2-0 down and i loved to start the chant 3-2! were gonna win 3-2! after williams scored the belter. sadly it didnt happen and we had to go away singing leicester till i die whilst walking down the stairs which too was an amazing feeling to have that much spirit and atmosphere after losing. great job all travelling fans today! makes me want to do it so much more. im not going leeds and i cant make it to stoke due to work related activities but 17th dec seems so far away!

sorry this has been so long i have so much to say.

lako i think there was a fair few city faithfull, i cant say exactly how much but i could see spare seats here and there. maybe we filled 2/3 of what we were given? can anyone give exact numbers? cheers

We didn't dominate the game, we were happy to contain them, which we did fairly well for most of the match - but that's not the same as dominating it.
Bolton had most of the possession and most of the chances, without ever looking like creating many good chances. But we looked even less likely to score than they did, I don't think their keeper had to make a save in normal time.

Goal Attempts:
Bolton 19
Leicester 9

On Target:
Bolton 6
Leicester 2

I would like to think that was the best the Premiership had to offer, but sadly I feel that isn't the case. They weren't that much better than us on the night.

I can certainly see why Bolton's attendances are dropping.

As for the car park, what a joke. Which muppet decided using the road part to block people in was a clever idea? Still at £6 a car, I think I might know why they did it....

Webbo, from what I could see our one and only attempt on target was in the last few seconds of normal time. Been trying to think where the other so called attempts on target came from. In the extra time i would saywe had around 4 on target.

Overall I thought we played a fairly good game and with our full strength team I think we would have won it. MDV did well as lone forward, but everytime he "won" the ball there was always a Bolton player to pick up the ball. Williams goal was just suberb and it did give us hope.

One question................Why did David Bentley play for Blackburn last night in the cup. He is on loan there from Arsenal!!!!!!

i think he's there with a view to a permanent move.

We never really looked like scoring though.

From my seat it looked as though we did score - it also looked as though we were going to score another until Jussi Jaaskelainen pulled off an amazing save to deny Dion.

While we never did look like winning, no team in the Premiership should have to hang on against lower league opposition like Bolton had to last night - for that we should congratulate the players and take some satisfaction.

Don't forget there were City fans in the bottom tier as well. I reckon that we were about 2,000 out of a crowd of just over 13,000.

Not bad for a little club!

agreed Boc i am satisfied we scored a goal, a fantastic one too, we showed some good attacking football at times but never really looked a threat untill late on. it was a nice experience & i think our players will learn alot from it. good to see them show there appreciation at the end, 1stly by Joey as per usual loyal as he is, then the 2nd waves led by Alan Maybury. well done guys!

edit : i know there were a small section of fans down there i got a pic of them at HT. uploading them slowly now.

There were warnings about it being difficult to get away from the stadium car-park on this board. Whyever did you park in there?

There was plenty of parking at half of that (and less - and some free) within a five or ten minute walk from the ground. Easy to get away afterwards as well!

After surviving the first 20 minutes we did ok. We defended well and restricted them to a few half chances. Must admit, we didn't look like we were going to bother attacking in the first half.
Second half we were far more positive going forward and although we struggled to get shot in on target we managed a few chances.
Extra time looked for a start as bit to much for us but we didn't give up and pressed them as much as we could. After they scored their second goal we really threw everything at them resulting in a goal by the most dissappointing player of the evening. Wish he played for us for the whole match rather than just spectating. Dulin unluckly in the last minute. Thought the ref was a bit inconsistent with his decisions about what was a foul and what wasn't.
Good defensive performance. Some dissappointment with the midfield. De Vries toiled hard up front on his own but had shot it in extra time. Happy to see that we didn't seem to out of place playing a premiership side.
Well done Foxes, and great support from our fans.
Stadium looked impresive outside and in the seating area but the concourse area was a Sh**hole, made the Walkers look like a palace. Glad we ate before we got to stadium as they had nothing left once inside.

Proud of the lads last night, the result was less important than the heart and fight shown.

Seriously worried about Hughes (if really 100% fit) Is that really the same player from the end of last season?

Just woke up durham ? lol

Never again on them fcking supporter coaches.

Disagree again, stats do NOT tell the story of this game, Bolton started well and it looked like lambs to the slaughter, BUT we soon got into the game and I repeat DOMINATED the second half, the only time Notlob got the ball was when we gave it to them, goals were 1, fluke and 1 sloppy defending, we were comfortably in control and you would never have known which was the premiership side !!!!!!!!

with an altered side from the sheffield utd match, we came away with a great performance under our belts. hopefully this is a sign that the squad as a whole is picking up momentum
