Liverpool have joined the £22m auction to land Leicester's midfield star N'Golo Kante.

here we ago Arsenal Liverpool PSG have all vocally come out stating there intent, it is no surprise they want him probably the reason why we have offered him a 100,000£ a week contract. My questions are this:

1. Which idiot drew up his contract and added a release value of 20 million?
2. Is the most he can go for 20 million?
3. will he give us another season he is definitely young enough and would walk into any club in the world, I hope he stays if he does top six is easily within our reach top four is do able!

I'm sure I read somewhere that his release clause is quite complicated and not straightforward to trigger.

Given the circumstances of his arrival, it would be odd if it is a plain £20m.

Apparently the suggestion is the release clause has to be activated by Kante, which involves sacrificing certain bonuses, before clubs can exploit it.

(just what i have heard discussed, don't have a source)

IMO as good as he is, plays better as part of a 2 man central midfield because his best performances are when chasing /blocking/intercepting/tackling, he is not as comfortable in a dominant team with a 3 man central midfield. If its money hes after we could be ok, but more likely wants to play for a tradionally elite club, eg if Man Utd come in for him he would find it hard to turn down the opportunity. As for the £22mill "get out clause" it was probably deemed steep at the time of his signature. If we can persuade him to stay and sign a new contract im sure the getout clause will be set much higher

Liverpool? Really? Not even in Europe. Would think he'd want to try champions league so can't see that happening.

Liverpool, now that is funny

It is good to see us upping the ante WRT salaries it sends out the right message IMO. My understanding is he is happy at Leicester however a PSG bid would allow him to go back to France.

I live near Bordeaux and the local paper, Sudouest, made him MOTM for his performance the other day and they call him the washing machine, because he clears up everybody else's mess. Le Figaro put him behind Payet for some reason and they call him Mr. Clean, for the same reason.

He is getting so much publicity over here that we will do really well to keep him. If he does go, I will still watch him just for the pure pleasure of seeing him play and the knowledge that he once graced our hallowed turf.

I am not sure winning the EPL once makes our pitch 'hallowed' especially as we only got 3 more points on it than our away fixtures.
