The interesting part of that article being:

While £20million triggers the clause, Leicester are only required to accept the highest bid over the stated figure, leading clubs to stall over showing their hand first.
Haha, I like that.

Football contacts get more and more stupid every year.

He'll be here until January - Arsenal will come in with a last minute big money deal but won't be able to get the deal done in time.

So he's here at least until transfer deadline day I guess.

Presumably there's some kind of timescale set out in the contract. If not we could just refuse to sell him, saying we're waiting for a bigger offer.

So it might be that we have to accept the biggest offer that comes within a certain number of days after the first offer, for example.

So, if (for argument's sake) he decides he wants to go to Chelsea.

They bid £20m. Other clubs suss him out via his agent, and he says he's not interested, so that they don't bid. We still only get the (reported) £20m.

The counter argument, I guess, is that another club could bid £25m, even if they know he doesn't want to go to them, but effectively nullifying Chelsea's bid, or forcing them to spend more, at least.

I don't know. I'm still confused.
