What about Kenton ? And anybody CL got in who was any good was supposedly scouted by RK

That's not bad when he's got no money to spend. To bring a forward in would have cost big money we just ain't got. Do you honestly think a forward on a free transfer would have done the job we want done. That's why we are using the fuzzy haired git who everybody was ranting on about a few weeks ago. He's far ffrom what is needed but that's the only option we have got.

Rob Kelly's league performance since taking over as LCFC manager:

2005/06 season - P...16 - W...8 - D...4 - L...4 - Pts....28
2006/07 season - P...6 - W...2 - D...1 - L...3 - Pts....7
Overall record - P...22 - W...10 - D...5 - L...7 - Pts....35

Stretch that record out over a full season (46 games) and you get a little over 73 points. That's been right around 6th/7th place for the past five seasons.

So... sack him? :icon_conf :icon_roll

I don't think true fans will put RK under pressure. The man is doing what he can with the squad he's got. Would certainly like to see Fryatt and Hume restored to the front, as I find that O'Grady does not seem to gel with MF. Save him for the last 10 to 15 minutes when he can be effective against a tired defence.

Well here lies the problem, he proved the end of last season what we capable off, he didnt lose anyone he didnt want so he should be able to maintain the same pts average. If we only aiming for draws away from home then expect a bottom half of table finish because we not going to win all our home games.

Err what about Joey? big loss IMO

this is absolutely typical of our fans, no wonder we dont attract the top players or managers, whe after only a few games into a season we are already calling for rob kelly's head on a plate!

It was only 3 months ago half of you were calling him the saviour, now after a couple of bad results and he is suddenly another peter taylor.

Cmon get a grip, its a long season we will have bad results and bad performances but you lot are not helping by being so pessimistic, give the taem a ****ing chance for gods sake.

sorry forgot about joey.

Whilst I am dissapointed we have already lost 3 games and we look to be returning to our previous levein away form, I am not calling for kellys head, he needs a lot more games then this to be judged on, I also happen to think we need some management stability.

Well said!:038:

And welcome to the madhouse.

I don't think anybody is calling for Kelly's head just yet, however taking the performances and tactics so far this season it is clear to see that there are problems that are all too remininiscent (sp) to last season.

1) We still have not solved the issues down the left. We have been crying out for a left back for over 12 months.

2) We still do not have an experienced target man (In a Brian Deane mould) to provide another dimension.

3) Indecisive goalkeepers.

4) Under Levein we were negative and cautious, resulting in an appalling goalscoring and away results record.

All these problems still remain this season, it is compounded by the fact that we have until the West Brom game had a fairly reasonable start to the season in terms of opposition, and should have been able to build a fairly decent platform for what was always going to be a difficult September, however we have been far too negative and as yet we are still awaiting our first away goal of the season.

Saturday reminded me of the Levein era, where we set up to nick a 0 - 0 draw that is unacceptable IMO, we must go out to win all matches in this division, and it is this lack of ambition and negativity that is causing concern. The season already seems to be taking a very similar shape to the last one and I am afraid that we cannot afford to drift and stagnate in this manner, if we are not good enough to win promotion I can accept that, however why should fans also suffer a negative approach.

Come off it. We've had 6 games. Of the 3 away games, Luton we were just crap, Coventry the first half was anything but negative, and West Brom but for a moment of Kenton madness, we'd probably have got the point and maybe even stolen the 3 in a typically unjust way. And none of those 3 were ever going to be easy.

And of the home games, we lost one. To a Burnley side that always sets out to defend deep and look for the chance of nicking it. Which they did. And won the other two.

I think you have jumped on the wrong horse here. We have concerns over Kelly and his lack of experience at this level. Just a fans concern nothing
more, the side has not been as bad as previous years for sure.

At times, he seems tactically naive whether an experience partner/coach could help him like last season could be the answer.

We are also criticise the board for their lack of bollox.

If anyone can explain to me why we bought Gareth McAulay in and not another striker I'd love to hear it.

We bought McAulay for defensive cover, he is also a well fancied lower-league player who Kelly has had his eye on for a while. For the value there arguably wasn't a striker comparable.

And in those 6 games I have seen nothing that to convince me that we have learnt our lessons from Leveins reign last season.

And I am not saying that Kelly should be sacked, however what I am saying is that on the evidence of current performances and results, plus the additions to the squad made in the summer, there has been some areas that required urgent attention that appear to have been neglected and we do appear to be also making key tactical decisions that are all too similar to this time last season.

Kelly seems more cautious in his approach this season and my concerns are that he is now making decisions based on trying not to lose games as opposed to trying to win. He is managing with a sense of a fear and he needs to return to the positive approach he adopted last season, which was so successful.

But at present he is as useful as a cock flavoured lolly. We have Johansson, Kenton, Stearman, McCarthy and Kisnorbo who can play there already. For me, our needs for a striker were far higher than a six choice central defender, regardless of of his potential (incidentally I saw him quite a bit pre season and dont rate him at all)

I really think Rob Kelly thought either Stearman or Kismybum would've been sold by now to be honest.

Another thing when I said earlier about mdv been shipped out was a mistake as fryatt isnt scoring currently and having mdv available as a sub might have been useful. you can never have too many strikers.
