Kelly admitted in the summer that he would have to be clever and inventive in the transfer market in the summer, he didnt have to make wholesale changes just tweak the squad and plug some of the obviously glaring gaps in within the squad.
However he proceeded to sign two central defenders, one that we definately didnt need (McAuley), demonstrated by his notable absence from league action. So the flaws in the squad remained, lack of a recognised left back, decent target man and a recognised left winger. Now he may not have been able to fill all those gaps as we also needed one centre half and a central midfielder to replace Joey, but to have not filled any of those 3 is criminal.
As Highland states the midfield is full of Kelly's players, Low on the right, Johnson in the middle and Porter on the left (Promoted into the first team by Kelly). So if this is the percieved weakness of the team then surely Kelly must take his fair share if responsibility.
