Andy King won his first man of the match award of the season after his goal that rescued a point for City saw the fans vote him higher than anyone else who played long enough to be eligible for the award. Young keeper Carl Pentney was the only player who achieved a rating above 7. The debutant didn't play long enough to be considered for man of the match but his impressive performance should not be pushed to one side.

Jack Hobbs was unlucky not to win the award coming very closely behind King in second, with goalkeeper David Martin finishing third.

It was another disappointing day for Lloyd Dyer whose performances continue to disappoint and earned him another flop of the match. Matty Fryatt despite rating comfortably higher than Dyer was voted the second worst player on the pitch with Kerrea Gilbert rounding off the bottom three.

Interesting that the combined thoughts of 86 fans made Gilbert the 3rd least effective player, while Bill Anderson made him man of the match

And Gilbert was also dropped by NP for last nights game. As noted before, I think Gilbert is barely good enough for this level and hope that we don't take him through to next years campaign (Assuming we go up).

Interesting that he got MOTM even though he missed two absolute sitters before he scored and was largely invisible throughout the game.

Think that was tactical more than anything. They'd probably identified Hartlepool's left winger as their main threat and decided to put Morrison who is more of an out and out defender.

But he's an out and out central defender, which is very different from a right back

If that was the reason then it was a desperate decision - particularly as Edworthy is merrily kicking his heels doing feck all

Personally I thought Gilbert had one of his better games of recent times. As for playing Morrison at RB imo Pearson wanted to give Brown a start but didn't think Morrison deserved to be dropped so moved him to RB to accommodate him.
