I think we should be aiming for a higher profile player than this... :icon_wink

The impression that I have from the list of players touted as attracting MM's interest is that they look mainly somewhat over the hill - Bosman frees and the like who are looking for relatively big wages. MM has been in the business for a long time and should know what he is doing - but I don't think they are players that are likely to create a lot of excitement.
As for Koumas - he would cost good money and a monster wage to persuade him not to join a prem club. This is not going to happen - and I'm surprised that anyone could think that we are in that kind of market these days.

He's not good enougth on last season's form.
HAHA lol maybe then take a look at Henry as he aint getting many games
The list of players can only be taken as paper talk with them putting two and two together with MM's history of free signings. Kisishev is the first to have a report that we have put forward an offer and seems a decent player to be linked with, having the experience I mentioned in my previous post.
I think a majority of signings we get are not going to cause too much excitement, as you say, in the position we are in we are not going to attract players like Koumas (which was a bit of a 'tongue in cheek' comment but taken the wrong way), but we do need some older heads, IMO it is not the fact that the young players are sh*t, just they still need to learn the trade and should not have been expected to carry the fight for the last two seasons.
About right.
The transfer market is completely changed now. Most older players coming onto the market are frees of one sort or another - and it was widely anticipated that there would be considerable competition for some of the experienced players released by prem clubs this summer. Add to that MM's record of not paying out to many transfer fees when loans and Bosmans will do and you get the context.
I also agree to some extent with your point about the young players. This was the result of Levein being asked to drastically cut the wage bill by reducing the age of the squad. Unfortunately, we have not had the managerial and coaching skills to develop the young players - and so we are where we are.
I don't think that MA's appointment will have done anything to make the club more attractive to potential new signings - which is not to say that he will not prove a new manager. But I think it would have been initially easier for say Coleman or even Warnock.
Those young players are a smashing bunch of lads...

I wonder if any will bottle it and put in transfer requests from Ibitha!
