vi‧o‧lent

–adjective 1.acting with or characterized by uncontrolled, strong, rough force: a violent earthquake. 2.caused by injurious or destructive force: a violent death. 3.intense in force, effect, etc.; severe; extreme: violent pain; violent cold. 4.roughly or immoderately vehement or ardent: violent passions. 5.furious in impetuosity, energy, etc.: violent haste. 6.of, pertaining to, or constituting a distortion of meaning or fact.

Violent conduct, i ask you, did he display any of the above things, i think not!!! The rules are a joke.

That was never violent conduct, do these tossers who sit on this appeal board actually know anything about football!
In a match you can see some really bad two footed tackles and all the ref does is wave a finger at the offending player, in other matches with another ref he would get sent off. Refs have got to wake up and apply common sense to the game. It is supposed to be a contact sport, and due to this passions can run high. The ref is there to see fair play and to both sides.
I think PK was sent off to even things up as he had dropped a bollock sending off the other player.........

Refs always have been and always will be little mindless twats who get bullied in the workplace and this is their way of getting their own back.

He was always likely to even things up - not only because he had sent the Hereford chap off (the wrong one, as it happens) but also because he sent him off after failing to send off Logan in what would have seemed to at least 80% of the crowd as a similar incident.

Kisnorbo was in the wrong place at the wrong time and unfirtunately has a three-match ban to serve - the Hereford player, hte other half of the equation only has a one-match ban for a different offence.

Agree with Boc and BG, however, Kisnorbo should be aware of the fact that the ref may even it up, so although i feel it wasnt a sending off offence, it was pretty dumb!!!

3 matches is far too harsh, i cant believe the appeals board have'nt at least dropped the red to a yellow, meaning he serves a 2 match ban not 3.

Agreed on your first paragraph.

As far as your second paragraph goes, if it had been reduced to a yellow there would have been no ban at all - it would simply have gone towards a single match ban when he gets to 5 yellows (as presumably he will do at some time).

I find it difficult to comment, having completely missed the incident at the time and not having seen any video of it since.

Having now seen it (thanks MHS) the red card looks a bit harsh, but understandable - he seems to shove the guy back to the ground as he is getting up from the original clash.

Also noticed the ref having words with him earlier in the clip, following the logan trip, so maybe he was keeping an eye on him.

I thought he had already been yellow carded, if not, that sentence was poo!!

The panel should definately look at the incident and decide how violent it actually was, with the suspension varying between 0-8 matches. In this case a 1 game suspension for stupidity would suffice.

Always the case, bullied since being 5 and Saturday afternoons give them the chance to act like mini-Hitler. I have only met one ref with a bit of personality and charisma.

Refs should not be seen to be evening things up at all. Thats not what they are paid to do. If he has sent a player off the last thing in his mind is to think " Well I had better send someone off on the other side now to even things up".
Also if our or their player has made a "mistake" he is punished for it in the way of a booking or a sending off. What feckin punishment does a ref get when he makes a mistake???? His mistakes usually cost a club something, and that is more often than not,.......... money.

I say there should be apanel of ref watchers, and they can hand out yellow and red cards to him as well, if he makes too many bollocks humiliate him by replacing him mid way through the match.......

Feckin refs...........

was he about to die then?

The ref made the mistake of sending the wrong Hereford player off.....will he get a ban by the FA? I hope he does.....tosser.

For the Hereford highlights see here

From Foxestalk. :icon_wink

Thanks for that, MHS. Having now seen it, I can see why the ref sent him off. He does push the player back to the floor as they get up - perhaps it was worse when viewed from closer. Kisnorbo had already come to the notice of the ref several times in the game, not least when he 'went after him' after he awarded the Hereford penalty (also shown in the clip), and the ref probably thought he was out of control.

Let's hope he learns something from it.

Not already yellow-carded, as far as I know.

The panel has already looked at the incident and decided that it was violent conduct and should be punished by the standard 3-match ban. I think it's difficult to argue with that. To suggest that a varying ban (of between 0 and 8 game bans) should be imposed would mean doing away with the present 'fast-track' system. It might even cause more dissatisfaction as the length of bans became more subjectively decided. Leave well alone would be my advice.

There already is. Each club gives the referee a 'mark' at the end of the game. There is also an independent assessor at each game. The disciplining of referee's has been well-publicised.

You say that referees should not 'even up' - I say it is human-nature, just as it is human-nature for a professional footballer to kick the little shit that has been kicking him all game.

And lastly, referees will make mistakes. I went round a roundabout twice on the way to the game because I missed my exit on the first circuit - I made a mistake. You''ll ever eliminate mistakes.
