Wigan are after Kisnorbo. 3 million and I might consider letting him go after an injury prone lesser player went to Everton for more.

Mr Jewell - £2 million and he's yours. However I think the board will accept a third of this amount. :icon_roll

I'm pretty sure the Mercury mentioned this about a week ago, and it went by unnoticed...

£2m+ and I'd sell him. Otherwise we should hold on because we need our good players to get us back up. But with how many CBs we have, someone needs to go, and if we could get a decent fee for Kisnorbo and bring in a good LB and LW with that money then that would be great. I don't want to lose him, but I'd rather he went than Stearman or McCarthy (or Hume and Fryatt)

There ya go, from 5th July.

"Now he (Kisnorbo) is one of the names City boss Robert Kelly hopes he will not get a phone-call about.

Premiership side Wigan Athletic have already expressed an interest and Kelly knows the parlous financial state of City leaves his squad wide open to predators. "

The signings of McAuley and Kenton, made it clear that one of the centre backs were likely to be sacrificed in order to strengthen other areas of the pitch.

If we can secure 1 - 1.5m for Kisnorbo then I would take it, whilst he has done very well for us at centre half, I think the key man at the back will is Paddy Mac, and with a combination of either Kenton, Nissa or McAuley we will still have a very good central defensive partnership.

The ability to be able to use the funds to strengthen other positions will be extremely important and IMO too good an opportunity to turn down, especially if it provides the scope to sign a left back, left midfielder and a back up striker.

Anything over £1 million plus the acquisition of two players would be excellent business on paper...

We have to hope this deal comes off, as it will provide much needed funds, whilst we have a very good first XI, we do have a couple of key areas within the squad that are very lightweight and for us to harbour any serious ambitions of making a challenge for the play offs then we must address this problem.

We cannot expect Hume and Fryatt to play 46 league games, and based on last season's performances of both the individual and the team, MDV is not the answer for any great length of time IMO, whilst Hammond and O'Grady are yet to convince they are ready to perform regularly at this level, therefore it is key that we bring in at least one striker capable of complimenting the starting duo, whilst also providing competition for places and maybe a different option.

We are also crying out for a couple of left sided players, one who is capable of playing left back and the other who can provide with us an attacking option down that flank. If we cannot fill these voids in the squad then IMO we will be exposed at some time during the season and this could have a catastrophic effect on our final position.

Funny isn't it how one of our players who was slated by many fans when he first played for us now be sold for a couple of million, better he'll be glad to go.

If you had seen him play as a holding midfielder and then as a centre half, you would understand why he was slagged off and then why he was praised. It happens when players allow themselves to be played in situations they are incapable of fulfilling. ;)

We weren't wrong Newton, we were right. He was shite and the slating was justified (not the booing). He improved and the slating stopped, hats off to him
