I went QE, it was fecking shit.
The only good thing was the free periods and Football.
Teaching was awful.
ok so I'm a week late to this conversation....sorry.
My daughter has decided to apply there. Now I'm worried.

Well you wouldn't really expect to find this conversation in a thread of this title :icon_roll :icon_wink
All my peers that went to QE never had a bad word to say about it - but that was 20 years ago :icon_redf
Quite. **** knows what this is doing here.
But, for what it's worth, I reckon QE is probably the best state school in Leicester.
I haven't been to The Case, but I know people who have, and they speak highly of it.
Last night, we went to The Copt Oak, in Copt Oak, of all places. Typical pub grub, not the best, but not bad.
Off to the Case next Friday. Anyone been there?
what subjects is she applying to do? my teachers were all goodThanks - that makes me feel better. She could stay where she is but QE has a wider choice of subjects, better for her - but not if the teaching is rubbish of course.
Home economics?what subjects is she applying to do? my teachers were all good
Been there a few times... its nice. Mondays are not quite so good, as they tend not to have alot of the stuff that's on the menu! Can highly recommend the house champagne![]()
its only expensive if the food is crap.

Whats wrong with half a guiness in a ladies glass?.....![]()

a fair assesment hazz-i do feel QE is hit and miss-some love it others hate it. However in my subjects i would disagree about it being "University-Style" teaching (obviously i cannot account for this across the board)-QE was for me a great preparation for university, as i went there knowing 2-3 people max, and came out with a large friend group.I advise her to go to the open days. The place is generally on paper the best college in Leicester on results but can be scary for some people. What has been said to me by my friends is that it works more on a university-style of teaching. Where the teacher displays the work and then the student is to get along with it and come with a finished product as opposed to a teacher will to aid more with less pupils.
It's a very big college and sometimes the atmosphere seems uneasy. It's what I felt when I visit there for an open day. I am not trying to put her off it, but some people like me feel alienated by it when visiting i, uneasy and overawed at it. It does have the best teachers on paper but again that does not fit with certain people's personalities.
