I don't eat red meat, not sure if Duck is,Not for any other reason than i don't like the taste of it

Fair enough, acceptable reason though how do you know you don't like Duck if you've never tried it?. As Duck is poultry I suppose it is white meat even though it is darker than Chicken, I've always assumed that red meat described those with blood in them such as Beef and Lamb.

Hey duzzer, had a take away from the cafe spice on new buildings (formally spice bazaar) on new years eve. Very good grub and we got a massive discount, 36quid for four of us with starters and popadoms.

Leroy do they throw some bog roll and air freshner into that :102: :icon_roll :icon_wink

For all the jokes etc i find this quite an interesting thread. We were in the market for some pub grub and unfortunately i didn't get a reply to my request for a place to go. We drove past this place and it looked nice. How wrong can you be.... certainly a lesson learned. It wasn't particuarly cheap either.

sadly drew i did actually give it 3/10 in my first post in this thread :icon_cry:

If, and I mean if, there is anybody who likes a traditional Sunday roast dinner, I can highly recommend The Nag's Head at Stapleton, but you do have to book in advance. We've been going here a few times a year for about the last ten years and have never had a bad meal.
It's a real olde worlde pub, if a bit on the small side, but that just makes it all the more cosy :icon_wink
A roast dinner and pudding costs about £8 for adults and kids are roughly half that (I think). Choose from chicken, lamb, pork, beef or veggie options. Always really hot, which is a bit of a bugbear of mine, plus as much gravy as you want. Traditional puds to choose from - crumbles, lemon meringue, bread & butter pud, sherry trifle etc.
Always good to go when the weather's warmer if you have kids, as there's a large outdoor play area, plus a footy pitch with proper goals (ball provided) and lots of seating outside.
Can't fault the place, so have to give it a 10/10

Doh!

I might compile a list of places and ratings that can go in the first post on this thread.

Little India - Arnesby :038: :038: :038: :038: :038:

Superb curry house, excellent value - £75 for 4 of us including poppadums, starters and curry, rice naan. The service is superb and the restaraunt is relaxed and welcoming.

9/10 - loses 1 mark for being in the middle of nowhere, which means you have to drive.
my old man went there recently and said in his opinion its highly overated-i also went to the another indian restaurant owned by them, which has the same menu-and it was ok but not overly impressive

tiffin is still no.1
