You could drop matchday tickets by 20% and the ST holders do not lose out they still have better value this is because whilst increasing discounts have gone out to ST holders to get them to renew matchday tickets have simply been frozen.

Now lets look at this, 3k paying matchday tickets for a game, rest are ST or freebies.

10k empty seats.

You drop price by £5 losing £5 x 3k making £15k to make up.

Extra 4k torn up paying say £15 a ticket thats 4k x £15=£60k a £45k increase in turnover. I am no genius and its not hard to work out where the problem is.

The membership scheme seems to have provided a drop of £5 per game for the vast majority of games so far, while for Brighton its £22 without membership & £20 for a ticket & membership combined

Would an extra 4k turn up is the big question though

The Foxes Trust answer points you in the right direction. You must understand that in the world of Cost Accountants you budget for what you will happen rather that what might happen.

Accordingly no-one will reduce the prices as this could have an effect that no-one budgetted for. In this day and age people will take what they can get rather than risk something and get less. :icon_sad: ;)

We also have to look at league position and performances, if we were winning week in and week out then I would imagine the crowd would increase by at least 5k if not more.

Why dont the club introduce a tiered ticket pricing policy which takes into account the current league position.

So for instance :

Position 1 - 6 = £25.00

Position 7 - 12 = £21.50

Position 13 - 18 = £19.00

Position 19 - 24 = £15.00

That way the fans are then paying for what they are actually seeing, if the team are struggling in general the performance level will be poor therefore cheaper tickets, which would encourage supporters to still come and cheer the team on. But if the team is performing, winning matches and producing the goods then fans would be expected to pay more, but with the performances being better and results being good you would no doubt be attracting decent crowds. IMO this would provide the fairest pricing policy to both the club and fans especially whilst we are in the coca cola leagues.

They wouldnt turn up if they needed to buy membership to get the discount.

Please listen, price drop NO MEMBERSHIP just price drop.

If the club tried it and there was no increase or not enough increase then the argument is dead the point is proven. Not only that where are the future season ticket holders going to come from? People start of turning up for a game casually and then some will eventually goto more and more games maybe eventually becoming a ST holder, I agree fully that results bring attendances and with the way we playing attendances will be low but the club can do more.
