It is clear that the only reason O'Neill and representatives of Everton were there is because of our Dicky Stearman.

Hands off!!!:098:

Martin may have been at the board meeting because he might have actually thrown a few quid in the pot when we were in need of help.

Another rumor is Randy Lerner wants to buy us and merge us with Villa. He wants to call the new merged club the Midlands Valley Royals.

He didn't attend a board meeting, he was with the suits after the game, which is normal for visiting members of other clubs.. He didn't put any money in. Anyway, welcome!;)

I remember a certain Mr Maxwell wanting to do the same to Oxford and Reading and call them Thames Valley Royals and play somewhere between the 2. But it never got off the ground. Bet Reading fans glad now they're in the Premiership that it bit the dust.

Not unlike Robert Maxwell and the Thames Valley Royals - and look what happened to that fat b'stard.

From he rumour mill Martin George is part of the midlands consortium, may be utter tosh as he didn't dig deep during the administation.
I believe he is still part of the club? it has been his plaything for many years and may not want to loose it.
25mil is not a gamble when you look at all of the facilities, what will the acadamy squad be worth in years to come?

How do you know he didn't dig deep? I've seen things which put MG as the top shareholder at the club. Futhermore since Admin his family have (if i understand it correctly) sold off wheatabix making him an even more wealthy man.

therefore I would supect his fortune is similar to MM's. I would actually prefer MG to take over should this be the case.

As an alternative to MM its not a bad shout.

If he did make a bid with his Weetabix £millions it would be interesting to see who the board back and who the fans back.

I'd prefer a Leicester fan like MG but either way I'm not picky!

He has 50,000 shares, that makes him one of the smallest shareholders in the club.

He also didn't have the money he has now, he didn't sell Weetabix until 2004/5, and was tempted to buy the club in the middle of the Birch/Neville sacking episode.

I don't think at any time he has been short of the odd bob or two.

during his chairmanship he would'nt put any of his own money into the club, he said it was 'his families and not his to put in' However i understand he did put a wedge into the acadamy and acted as guaranter for player loans. In saying that he may be cash rich now and want to hold on to his toy..I would prefere MG, leicester through and through (although lives in Northampton) and got Little( magoo) and MON

MG doesn't have enough financial clout to buy the club out. Do we really want a consortium buying us. I think that the current board don't want to relinquish any control and want someone to come in with a cash injection. IMO this is a very bad idea as the cash will not go very far and is unlikely to help us.

A full takeover by a man with a proven track record is the best solution. I don't really care if hes in it for the money.

This is my fear as well since they have always made statements in the tune of investment rather then been brought.

I say much. Weetabix was sold for 650million. His family held roughly 25% of the shares, RG his brother got 45million in cash. Another 80million was shared around the family.
