Not that one actually. I got that. Cadasmarties though, was he convicted also?

He certainly served a six month ban, which led to him being sacked by Bradford. That's why he was on non-contract terms at Grays when we signed him.

In which case the references were entirely factual. I am now off to find my coat, then I'll get it and feck off. :)

From The Times today. So then, Allen, Holloway, or Megson to blame?

Correction Nigel Pearson

In our report on the FA’s antidoping policy and the new “whereabouts” rule (November 13), we said that a Leicester City player had inadvertently missed a random dope test because he had left a training session early after the manager, Nigel Pearson, had indicated that those who arrived early could leave early. We now understand that this unwitting mix-up occurred before Nigel Pearson became manager. We apologise for any confusion and are happy to put the record straight.

Statement from the club:

In response to the report in the Times newspaper (Thurs Nov 13th) Nigel Pearson states that the missed drug test of a Leicester player happened outside his tenure as manager of Leicester City FC.

The missed drug test occurred in April 2008, whilst Pearson was appointed as Foxes manager on June 20, 2008.

He also accepts as manager of said club his reponsibility to comply with the current drug testing rules by explaining to the players their obligations with regards to their whereabouts.

He has also ensured that the players of the said club are aware that the ultimate responsibility for stating the wherabouts on missed training days rests with themselves.

He has also instucted his lawyer to contact the Times Newspaper in regard to the misrepresentation of facts, and his named part in the article(13th Nov 2008), and subsequent potential harm to his reputation.

Holloway.
