Wrong. After expenses 45% goes to each of the participating clubs and 10% to the pool.
Oh. Is that similar to the FA Cup?

The FA Cup used to be shared 2:1 I think. Not sure if that's still right. I'll look it up.Oh. Is that similar to the FA Cup?

It was mentioned in a number of news articles a few years back, in relation to some complaints when City charged £15 for a game against some shite lower division side. Possibly Blackpool. It may have been lies back then though, it was after all in a newspaper. When was that? It's been shared equally for as long as I can remember.
Only for replays. See above..
FA Cup from 3rd round onwards is 42.5% to the participating clubs, 10% to the pool and 5% to the FA.
When was that? It's been shared equally for as long as I can remember.
Non-league clubs pray for replays:Ha! So the FA pray for replays!
(c) “The Pool†shall be a fund held by The Association which shall be divided at the completion of the Competition between the FA Premier League and the Football League for onward distribution to the Clubs in the FA Premier League and the Football League which participated in the Competition. The 5% payment to The Association for replayed matches in the First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Rounds of the Competition Proper shall be divided at the completion of the Competition amongst all the Clubs outside the FA Premier League and The Football League playing in the First Round of the Competition Proper.
This all sums up the state of the game for me.
20 years ago a home cup tie with Derby would have been a guaranteed sell out & we'd all be delighted at the prospect of giving them a hammering. We'd be talking about little else from now until the day of the game.Instead of which the response seems to be "Meh" at best.
I understand why perfectly.I just think it's ****ing sad thats all.
I'm just glad I started off as a football fan in the days when EVERY competition was considered important.
But now I suppose we all have to just accept that a home cup tie against an age old local rival is an "awful draw" because we'd prefer to get Man U reserves? & it doesn't really matter if we lose because the priority is to gain admission for next season to a competition we can't ever possibly win & would regard finishing 4th bottom as a staggering success story.
Shit.I swear if someone had told me when I was 15 that this was how things would end up I would have stopped being interested & found another sport to follow.

I could have written that.
